I can’t with a clear conscience recommend fieryplay casino with the experiences I’ve had with them. I will start by saying I had some great wins, but when you try to withdraw it takes a long time, they also leave the withdrawal amount in your active balance for a long period of time seemingly to try get you to play through it. The customer service has solved 1 out of 10/16 problems I’ve had while on site so they are useless. I have over €10 thousand worth of real money bets on the site in less than a month. I have received 1 €200 no wager bonus and 4 €20 x40 wager bonuses which really shows how much they value anyone with a high level of play. They don’t really want genuine customers as their rewards show. The player level up system is also very very hard to work through. You only receive 1 point for every €5 spent compared to other sites that offer 1 to 1. I have gambled on different sites for the last 12 years and this casino by far is the worse for looking after customers. I would not recommend it to any serious gamblers. As you can see from their reply below they take no accountability and this is the reason I closed my account here

Good afternoon Jordan1994977,

We are sorry to hear that your experience with our casino did not meet your expectations.

We would like to clarify a few points regarding our loyalty program. Loyalty points are awarded for all qualifying bets, regardless of whether they are winning or losing bets. Progressing through the loyalty levels is straightforward, and each new level rewards players with a separate no-deposit bonus. In addition, every new loyalty status unlocks further benefits, including increased cashback, enhanced weekly bonuses, a more favorable point conversion rate, and an additional bonus reward.

Regarding withdrawals, all payouts are processed within the timeframes specified in our Terms and Conditions. At the same time, we always aim to process withdrawals as quickly as possible. As your account has already been successfully verified, future withdrawals can be processed as quickly as possible, provided that you continue using the same verified payment methods for your transactions.

Our support team is always committed to assisting players to the fullest extent of their responsibilities. If a matter requires further investigation, it is escalated to the appropriate department. We have not found any outstanding requests related to your account, which indicates that the issues you previously reported have already been resolved.

Finally, please note that the RTP (Return to Player) of each game is determined by the game provider and is displayed in the information section of every slot. We do not have the ability to influence the outcome of game rounds or the RTP values.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We hope to welcome you back to our casino in the future and wish you all the best.

Hit the free spins feature on Wanted Dead or a Wild at 1am. Decent win, put in a withdrawal before going to sleep not really thinking about it. Woke up, checked my account. Already there. That kind of thing changes how you feel about a platform.

Everything works as it should. Fast payouts, great game variety, and a clean, easy-to-use site. Customer support is always available and actually helpful, which is rarer than you'd think. I've had zero issues since signing up. For a stress-free and reliable gaming experience, this casino is my top pick.

For the most part the casino is good. Being able to play and withdraw with minimal contact to customer support means better gameplay. On more than one occasion Ive found myself back and forth with customer support and getting nowhere fast.
Had been delegated a VIP manager early on, although I'm not quite sure that gives you anything different to the average player.

At times have been unable to reach an agreement with customer support and so I've emailed the VIP manager delegated to me, to no avail.

I had deposited $100 via crypto deposit, when I won a somewhat substantial amount, I had requested my withdrawal be made with crypto also due to the simple reason that my experience with the casino and their withdrawals prior to that occassion were very below par (took over a week and was constantly told the cheques in the mail"
I have attached screenshots of crypto deposits, accepted and credited then on the same account, attempts to withdraw the winnings into my E wallet in crypto. When I contacted customer support they advised they could not, or would not be paying it via crypto but failed to give any reason other than "winnings obtained by deposit method other than crypto deposit means you cannot withdraw via crypto" however, as the evidence shows, I did deposit all money at that time via crypto.

I was repeatedly denied withdrawal in crypto and told that for me to be eligible to withdraw in crypto I had to deposited in crypto, despite my evidence to show I had, I was still denied this option and told to withdraw to my bank account.

Initially, the casino would offer a bonus of the chance to win free spins via an interactive game anytime $10 or more was deposited, which then became $15 without notice, which then became $20 without notice and finally it became $25 and a required codeword needed to be manually input and added per deposit in order to receive the chanve to win either 10, 15 or 29 free games all at 10c per spin and with bizarre wagering requirements attached.

Other than those couple of issues, it's been fairly straight forward and yes. If you can avoid contacting support, your overall playihg experience will improve.

MyCasino CH is definitely one of the best casinos. Withdrawals are extremely fast, often processed within just a few hours, which is a major advantage.

The casino offers a huge selection of games, frequent bonuses, and fair wagering requirements. The overall experience is professional and player-friendly.

This casino, Jackpot CH, receives a slightly negative rating from me. This rating is based on a comparison with other Swiss casinos only. If compared with casinos worldwide, it would actually receive a higher rating from me. However, by Swiss standards, it is worse than many of its competitors.

I have been a player at this casino since the very beginning, and I have seen many changes over time. In the beginning, they were very generous: huge bonuses and easy wagering requirements. However, they have now adopted the model and conditions used by many foreign casinos, and the experience has become worse.

For example, there are now betting limits per spin on slots, etc. But the most absurd thing is that when you deposit money and receive a bonus, you first play with your real money, while any winnings are divided between bonus funds and real money. This simply makes no sense. If the winnings are split 50/50, then the stake should also be split 50/50 — half real money and half bonus money.

This is one of the negative aspects of this casino.

Apart from that, the rest is fine. Withdrawals are reliable, and there is a wide selection of games available.

How our Safety Index drives our reviews

We've reviewed over 800 top casinos in New Zealand, basing our assessment on hard data rather than opinions, with a final score reflected in our Safety Index. We verify licences, read Terms and Conditions, and audit complaints, then score each casino by combining all this information with our complex behind-the-scenes calculations.

Our Safety Index is the only NZ casino rating system that's 100% independent, verified in-house, and not for sale. While other sites may charge for higher scores, ours are earned; every rating is based on hard data, complaint records, and over 200 data points.

A higher Safety Index score means a stronger recommendation. The final score is out of 10. Anything 8.0 or higher is a strong recommendation; 6.0–7.9 means the casino is generally safe but with some caveats; and anything below 6.0, we'd suggest you steer clear of.

Player Complaints

Our review team of 25+ experts tracks player complaints, verifies details, and updates scores based on outcomes. With over 18,000 resolved complaints and 700 casinos that have revised their Terms and Conditions following our resolution, we place a great deal of weight on it.

Player complaints are a crucial factor in our Safety Index. They give us a clear picture of how a casino handles issues. We review complaints about payouts, rule changes, and account actions, then weigh them by age, severity, and resolution. Recent unresolved complaints weigh more heavily on a casino's score.

Unfair or restrictive practices

Casinos that engage in unfair practices lose points in our Safety Index. We focus on these key issues:

  • Casinos with low withdrawal caps may delay payouts, leading to penalties.
  • Hidden or unclear rules harm players, so we penalise casinos with undisclosed terms and unfair clauses.
  • Unresponsive or ineffective support or not responding to complaints lowers a casino's score.
  • Uncertified games or those operating without a valid licence.

Related Casinos

We consider the impact of related casinos. Those sharing ownership, management, or affiliate networks. If one casino faces complaints or issues, it can affect the reputation of its affiliated sites.

For example, LeoVegas and Royal Panda are both part of the same parent company. If Royal Panda experiences unresolved player complaints, LeoVegas may also face a lower score due to the shared ownership.

Size of the casino

Larger casinos, with revenues over $10 million, such as LeoVegas, often offer more payment options, higher withdrawal limits, and faster processing times, making cashouts smoother for players. These operators generally receive a stability boost in their score.

Smaller casinos, such as Vicibet, which generate under $1 million annually, may experience payout delays due to limited resources. However, this isn't always the case, and their score can improve over time when we see that they are handling player relations well.

Expert tip: Casinos are not created equal. Some delay withdrawals, have unclear rules, or ignore player complaints. Our Safety Index helps you avoid these traps by rating each casino’s trust level. Check a casino's Safety Index score before you register and make a deposit.

What to look for in a great casino

We've shown you what goes into our reviews and into our Safety Index score, which underpins our recommendations. As a handy guide, here are some green flags to look for before you sign up that we check beyond our Safety Index rating when writing our own reviews.

Bonuses with fair terms

Bonuses can add serious extra value to your play, but only if the terms are fair enough that you can realistically cash out. Here's how I spot the best casino bonuses and avoid the ones that look good on paper but trap you in the fine print.

1. Welcome bonuses

Welcome bonuses give you extra value on your first deposit, often in the form of a match bonus and free spins. The key is finding offers with fair wagering requirements and realistic time limits so you can withdraw without delay.

Cristal Poker's 100% up to $500 welcome bonus is a great example, as its 0x wagering is totally unheard of compared to the average of around 35x, and a generous 30-day expiry leaves plenty of time to play the bonus funds you've been given.

In contrast, Koru Casino requires an enormous 50x wagering requirement, well beyond both the average and the requirements at Cristal Poker or most other sites. Players here will need to wager significantly more before they can withdraw bonus funds.

What to look for:

  • Bonus amount – 100%-200% match on first deposit.
  • Wagering requirement – Ideally under 30x, though 30x-40x is the average for most bonus types.
  • Free spins – 50-200 spins with reasonable wagering, most deals are set at 40x.
  • Expiry – 14+ days preferred, though seven days is most common.

2. No deposit bonuses

When it comes to playing with little need to deposit, NZ no deposit bonuses let you try a casino without using your own money. They're interesting, but high wagering or low cashout limits can make them less exciting than they appear. Roostake's 200 free spins on Sweet Bonanza has a much lower 5x wagering requirement than Sol Casino's 45x wagering, for instance, so be sure to compare bonuses before nabbing one.

What to look for:

  • Bonus amount – $10-$50 in bonus money or free spins.
  • Wagering requirement – Under 30x is strong for no deposit, but 30x-50x is the average.
  • Cashout limit – $50-$100 is typical.
  • Expiry – Seven days is around average for a no deposit bonus expiry window.

3. Reload bonuses

Reload bonuses are given after your first deposit. They're great for players who want to keep playing at one casino, as you can get a little extra when you deposit on certain days, or continue to have the chance to try out new games with free spins.

Offers I look for have reasonable wagering requirements, fair expiry terms, and work for a variety of deposit sizes, such as LeoVegas' 50% up to $200 reload bonus. It's about average with its 30x wagering requirement and 14-day expiry, and is a better option than others, such as GrandWild's 30% match, which only applies to deposits over $100.

What to look for:

  • Bonus amount – 50%-100% match.
  • Wagering requirement – Ideally under 30x, though 35x-40x is closer to average.
  • Free spins – 20-50 spins with reasonable wagering (40x or lower if you can).
  • Availability – Weekly or monthly reloads offer the best value.

4. Cashback

Cashback gives you a percentage of your net losses back. This means that if you bet and lose, a percentage of your bet will be returned to your casino wallet to play with again. Low or no wagering is best, so you can withdraw immediately, but a more modest 10x is more common than Supabet's generous 1x with $400 max.

What to look for:

  • Cashback bonus – 5%-25%, though 5%-10% is more common, with higher amounts reserved for VIP program players.
  • Wagering requirement – 1x preferred.
  • Max cashback – Usually $500+.
  • Payout type – Real money, depending on the amount you played.

5. VIP programs

Typical structure: 3–5 tiers

VIP and loyalty programs should be transparent, easy to track, and offer meaningful perks. The downside is that this kind of bonus program involves playing a certain amount at one casino, so you will be unable to get the benefits until you meet the minimum threshold. This will vary from casino to casino, so if you're not sure whether you'll hit the required levels, get in touch with customer support at that casino.

However, some casinos like King Billy offer a level-up style loyalty program where points earn you perks, without a specific bet amount needed.

What to look for:

  • Progress tracking – Visible progress bar or point tracker.
  • Perks – Faster withdrawals, exclusive bonuses, personal account manager.
  • Rewards – Birthday bonuses, cashback, holiday gifts, higher deposit limits.
  • Wagering on perks – Low or none is best.

Here are a few examples of good and less-great VIP programs.

Expert tip: I never choose a casino based solely on its bonuses. I look for reasonable wagering requirements, transparent terms, and sufficient time to play through. The goal isn’t just to get extra funds or free spins, but to ensure you can use and enjoy a bonus without feeling constrained by restrictions.

A varied game library for every player

Top NZ casinos typically offer 2,000-3,000 pokies, along with live tables, jackpots, and speciality games. The strongest sites strike a balance between variety and quality, ensuring players can find the best online casino games that suit their budgets, preferences, and experience levels.

Popular pokies

Pokies dominate in NZ casinos. When I'm choosing a new pokie, I go for features that keep me engaged, like cascading reels or interactive bonus rounds, over a slightly higher RTP (Return to Player) percentage. Given that RTP isn't guaranteed, I find it's best to pick a game where I like the features, theming, and gameplay style, and that has been produced by a trustworthy game developer.

Not sure if a pokie is right for you? Keep an eye out for these features of your chosen online pokie game to see if it's the one you want.

  • Bonus rounds – Look out for free spins, multipliers, or interactive pick-and-win features during your game. These will be listed in the game menu, and they can change your spin's outcome dramatically by increasing your win amount or adding more free chances to land winning combos.
  • Jackpot type – Progressive pots grow until won as players all contribute to the prize pool, while fixed jackpots drop more often but are a specific value. Always remember that wins are never guaranteed in jackpot games, just like other pokies.
  • Volatility – High volatility can mean fewer but bigger wins (e.g., Dead or Alive 2), while low volatility slots tend towards smaller, more frequent wins (e.g., Starburst). Of course, no wins are guaranteed, no matter which style of pokie you play, but each one can feel different to play depending on the volatility.
  • Bet range – Make sure min/max bets fit your budget. This will be shown in the game's menu if you want to check before you play.

It's not all golden with pokies. Here are a couple of things to keep an eye out for when you're picking one to play, which might not be features you want to see.

  • Bonus buy features with high price tags that can drain your balance quickly.
  • Pokies with high minimum bets don't necessarily lead to higher wins, so be sure that the minimum bet is variable and fits your budget.

Progressive jackpots with impressive prize pools

Jackpot pokies bring all the slot gameplay you love, with a growing prize that increases every time a player anywhere places a bet in the same game. Mega Moolah from Microgaming, for example, has paid out over $20M (in NZD, that comes out to eye-wateringly huge $35M+) in its biggest-ever jackpot win. While wins are random, understanding the jackpot type helps you choose wisely.

Here are a few things to look out for in a good progressive jackpot game.

  • Progressive vs. fixed – Progressives keep growing until somebody lands the winning combo, while fixed jackpots drop more often but with set prizes that are smaller.
  • Trigger type – Check if wins are random or require a specific bonus round. This will be explained in the game information page.
  • Bet requirements – Some jackpots may need a max bet to qualify for the top prize, though the major titles like NetEnt's Divine Fortune can be won with any bet.

On the other hand, watch out for these red flags to avoid:

  • Jackpots without clear trigger info or hidden caps for non-max bets. If it's not clear how to trigger a jackpot or how much you should bet to be in with a chance, don't play.
  • Small print that reduces prize payouts based on stake size. If you have to bet more to win the jackpot, it's better to stick to games where your bet size can be what you prefer. You'll be able to read the full terms of the bonus on the casino's bonus page, or directly from a link below where the offer is showcased.

Table games: Blackjack, roulette, poker, and more

Table games offer strategic depth and pace control that pokies can't match. They're casino classics for a reason, with many players choosing video or live versions of these games.

Whether you're keen to beat the dealer in online blackjack games, to spin the roulette wheel, or try your hand at poker, keep these expert tips in mind when picking your game.

  • Variants matter – European roulette (single zero) beats American (double zero) for odds, while single-deck blackjack can reduce house edge. Check the odds and house edge for each game before you commit to a bet.
  • Side bets – Fun extras like Perfect Pairs or Lucky 8s can add variety but increase volatility, so make sure to check that you are happy with the adjusted odds and play style before you play.
  • Live dealer quality – Look for multiple camera angles, low latency, and side bet options. All live casino games should be from well-established providers like Evolution or Pragmatic Play, who only work with professionally trained game hosts.
  • Table limits – Ensure min/max stakes match your budget. Some game varieties have higher buy-ins, which will be shown to you before you play.
  • Tournaments – These are great for competitive players who like fixed buy-ins and prize pools, and you might be able to find in-house tournaments for players (such as at Golden Crown casino). In contrast, others have network tournaments run by the game providers themselves.

Here are a few recommendations on what to try and where.

  • Supabet – Live Blackjack with 24/7 tables, multiple side bets, and fast dealing speed.
  • SkyCity – Live European Roulette for single zero, quick spins, and low minimums at SkyCity casino.
  • Vegasino – Hyper Speed Baccarat for simple rules and fast rounds.

Keep an eye out for these when you're looking to play, as they might be an indicator that a game isn't quite up to the high standards you should expect from quality table games:

  • Casinos offering only American Roulette (this indicates a higher house edge) - it's better to play at different styles of online roulette for a better edge.
  • Live tables with few seats, long waits, or no side bets. Variety and ease of play are signs of a well-run operation.

Live dealer games

Live dealer games bring the atmosphere of a real casino to your screen, with professional dealers and interactive features. They're among the best ways to enjoy table games and exciting, unique games like Evolution's game show titles featuring prize wheels, new game formats, and casino versions of Monopoly.

There are a lot of great live games out there. Give our expert's checklist for good live games a read before you pick one to play.

  • Game variety – Look for multiple versions of blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and poker. This indicates a well-run studio with multiple table options with varied buy-ins and stakes. When it comes to game show-style titles, pick one that offers the tested gameplay you're after.
  • Streaming quality – Crisp HD video with minimal lag makes a huge difference. Each game will have different gameplay features, so feel free to watch the stream before you join to get a feel for it.
  • Interactive features – Chat with dealers and players, use side bets, and enjoy unique twists on the classics like Lightning Roulette from Evolution.
  • Table availability – 24/7 access reduces wait times during peak hours. A well-run game studio will have enough tables and dealers to handle the number of players who want to join.
  • Bet range – Ensure table limits match your budget, whether you're a casual player or high roller.

Best for immersive experience:

  • Evolution Gaming's Lightning Roulette – Multipliers up to 500x and slick presentation.
  • Evolution Gaming's Infinite Blackjack – One hand dealt to unlimited players, with side bets and low minimum stakes.

Watch out for:

  • Limited table options at off-peak hours, leading to long waits.
  • Poor streaming quality that makes it hard to follow the game.
Expert tip: A casino’s game library tells you a lot about its priorities. I always look for a good mix of reliable software providers, fair jackpots, engaging pokies, and well-run live tables. When a site offers variety and quality, I know it’s putting player experience first and not just stacking numbers for show.

Who makes the best online casino games?

Trusted providers focus on producing great games that have a provably fair RNG (that's Random Number Generator, the maths that makes the randomness of the game result), and good mobile performance.

We don't just list providers to tick off a list; we've played these games ourselves to check feature triggers, bonus frequency, and the overall game quality. Here are a few of the top game providers to get you started.

  • NetEnt – Renowned for creating immersive games that became instant casino classics like Starburst and Gonzo's Quest, offering refined graphics and innovative tech. NetEnt forms the bulk of the games on offer at Jackpot City Casino, almost being an exclusive.
  • Microgaming – Pioneers in progressive jackpots, with Mega Moolah holding the record for payouts, and an unmatched game portfolio with hundreds of titles.
  • Play'n GO – Known for high-quality themed pokies like Book of Dead, intuitive game mechanics, and seamless mobile play.

Top-notch safety and security for Kiwi players

We ensure every casino we recommend puts player safety first. Look out for casinos, which have these green flags:

  • Trusted licences from reputable authorities like the UK Gambling Commission or Malta Gaming Authority (MGA)
  • Strong security on its site, including updated SSL encryption and modern security controls to protect your data.
  • Trusted and safe payment providers to keep your financial information safe.
  • Strong responsible gambling tools for every player.

Customer support that cares

Great customer support can make all the difference, especially when you need help with payouts or technical issues. We factor in the speed and helpfulness of customer support when we write our reviews, as we consider this a very important factor. We'd advise ensuring that customer support has:

  • 24/7 live chat support with quick response times.
  • Email and phone support as backup.
  • Clear processes for resolving complaints if something goes wrong.

Hassle-free deposits and withdrawals

Deposits are usually instant. Withdrawals vary by method and casino. Here's what you need to know about the most popular payment and withdrawal methods, their speeds, and how we factor this into our online casino reviews.

When it comes to getting the fastest casino withdrawals, the payment method you use can make a huge difference. E-wallets like Skrill and Neteller are widely available (e.g., on sites like Supabet casino or iWild casino) and tend to offer convenient, fast withdrawals processed within 24 hours.

Visa and Mastercard remain the most widely accepted payment methods and are the go-to choice for many Kiwis. Although they are not the quickest options (often taking 2-3 days for withdrawals), they're secure, easy to use, and are widely accepted across our recommendations.

Others, like cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (which can be used at casinos like Metaspins or Bitstarz), are known for their near-instant processing, but getting your crypto withdrawals within 1 to 24 hours is more common.

Here's a quick guide to the most popular payment methods accepted at the top casinos for NZ players (based on our test withdrawals):

Note on PayPal: Unfortunately, PayPal cannot be used for online gambling in New Zealand. Instead, consider alternatives such as Skrill, Neteller, or cryptocurrency for fast, secure transactions.

Wagering requirements that make it all worth it

Wagering requirements are how much you need to bet before you can withdraw winnings from a bonus. A lower wagering requirement is easier to clear, meaning you can withdraw your bonus and any associated winnings sooner. Obviously, lower or more generous wagering requirements are a plus for players.

Here's a quick comparison to show you how these can play out when claiming a bonus. Boomerang-Bet Casino offers a 100% bonus up to $1,000. You deposit $100, get a $100 bonus, making a total of $200 you play with. However, to withdraw from your bonus funds, you'll need to wager $3,500 total due to the 35x wagering requirements. That's no small amount, and it's worth checking this amount before you play.

Expert tip: Lower wagering requirements lead to an easier cashout. While 35x is about average, players will want to try and find 25-30x.

Casino sign-up dos and don'ts

We've given you the lowdown of what goes into our review process so you can not only read them but also check and rate the casino yourself to see if it suits you. Here are a few key points to keep in mind when you're picking the one for you.

Do:

  • Compare casinos before picking one. I like to make sure that the bonuses, games, and payment options are ticking the boxes I need.
  • Read reviews from both experts and other players to make sure that you'll get the experience you want.
  • Read the terms and conditions before you sign up and deposit. It's important to know that you won't find any surprises that affect your ability to withdraw your winnings.
  • Check that a reputable authority licenses the casino you're playing at. I like to know that a third party is ensuring the casino meets its legal requirements for safety and player responsibility.
  • Use the responsible gambling tools available to you. I always set deposit and bet limits before I play, so that I stay within my pre-determined gambling budget.

Don't:

  • Trust other reviews without doing your own research. What works for one player isn't guaranteed to be right for another.
  • Ignore signs that something isn't right. Customer support, licenses, and T&Cs should all be strong indicators that everything is safe and secure.
  • Pick just based on bonuses. Be sure the casino offers the kind of experience you enjoy.

Responsible gambling and player safety

The best NZ casinos let you set limits instantly from your account. That's why I always check for safety tools before signing up, as they help keep your sessions fun and in balance.

  • Stay in control of your budget – Setting deposit or loss limits means you can play without worrying about overspending.
  • Take breaks when you need them – Time-outs and self-exclusion give you space to reset, whether that's for a day or a year.
  • Keep track of your play – Reality checks and session timers make it easy to see how long you've been playing and how much you've wagered.
  • Get help quickly – Direct links to trusted support services are a lifeline if gambling stops being fun.

A good casino will let you set these limits instantly, without having to jump through hoops or wait for support to approve changes. Supabet is one of the sites we reviewed that lets you use all of the above tools and offers reality checks every hour. The responsible gambling tools available to you are the best way of ensuring safe play.
