Recommended Casinos
Select one of casinos recommended by Casino Guru. This list contains a mix of casinos recommended for various reasons, including big brands, smaller casinos with great bonuses and customer care, and other carefully selected alternatives. Better options, of course, appear first.
With responsive designs that work seamlessly on your mobile browsers, 11,000+ games designed with mobile players in mind, and all the portability that lets you play on the go (which 75% of players like to do), mobile casinos are wildly popular with players. Our experts have lined up a few standout options this month.
Vegasino - easy browsing and playing
Vegasino makes a strong first impression on mobile, with a sleek dark theme, neon highlights, and clear menus that feel like a modern Vegas game pit in your pocket. Its "High" Safety Index adds real peace of mind for Kiwi players.
The site is fully-optimised for New Zealand, with NZD payments and a quick three-step sign-up that works smoothly on mobile. I could claim the 100% up to $1,000 welcome bonus with 200 free spins in a few taps, and my Skrill withdrawal arrived in under six hours.
On mobile, the game lobby is easy to browse, with filters for providers and features like Megaways or Bonus Buy. You can jump straight into hits like Starburst, Gates of Olympus, or live tables from Evolution, including Lightning Roulette and Infinite Blackjack. There are also exclusive titles such as Book of Meow (ELA Games) and classics like Book of Ra (Novomatic).
Ongoing value is solid for mobile players too, in the form of a loyalty scheme where points convert to cash or perks such as personal account managers and higher withdrawal limits. Players can also get regular reload offers and free spin deals during the week. Many pokies and table games support demo mode, so you can test them on your phone before betting real money.
There are a few downsides to keep in mind. The 40x wagering on the welcome bonus and 24-hour expiry on free spins are on the strict side, there is no dedicated iOS or Android app, and support does not include a phone line.
Pros
Mobile-first site – Fully responsive mobile browser play, and a quick three-step registration make it easy for Kiwi players to sign up, deposit, and start spinning without needing to download anything.
Top-tier games on mobile – Well-organised mobile lobby with filters, major studios like NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, and Evolution, plus popular titles such as Starburst, Gates of Olympus, and live game shows like Monopoly Live and Dream Catcher.
Strong safety and fast payouts – A high Safety Index of 8.7, clear bonus terms, and withdrawals processed in under six hours via methods like Skrill help build trust, especially compared to casinos that take much longer to pay out.
Cons
Strict welcome bonus rules – The 100% up to $1,000 offer with 200 free spins is generous, but the 40x wagering and 24-hour free spin expiry are tougher than at some rivals, so players need to plan their mobile sessions carefully.
No dedicated mobile apps – While the browser site runs smoothly on smartphones, though there is no native iOS or Android app, so you miss out on features like push notifications for fresh promotions.
Limited support channels – Live chat and email are available and responsive, but there is no phone support option, which might disappoint players who prefer talking through complex questions with a real person.
Wyns - on the go freedom
Wyns Casino feels like a complete casino floor in your hand, with a slick mobile site that renders and runs beautifully on a phone. Backed by a Very High Safety Index rating, it balances fun, reassurance, and on-the-go freedom.
New players can claim a 100% deposit bonus up to $1,000 with 200 extra spins worth $0.20 each. The offer has 35x wagering on deposit and bonus, 40x on free spins, a $10 max bet, and 10 days to finish requirements. Wyns supports 19 payment methods, including fiat and crypto, and the mobile cashier is quick and straightforward.
Wyns features over 11,500 slots, plus 270+ table games, 600+ live games, instant games, and jackpots that all run smoothly on mobile. Helpful categories such as New, Popular, Exclusive, Megaways, and a full jackpot area keep browsing simple on mobile, while searching quickly finds favourites like Gonzo's Quest by Netent. Instant games, including crash titles and playful options like Chicken Road by InOut, are a fun highlight.
The wider experience on mobile is convenient too, with sportsbook betting and the option to play many titles in demo mode to find your favourite title. The main drawbacks are the lack of in-account responsible gambling tools, and no dedicated app, though these issues are more mild annoyances than deal-breakers.
Pros
Smooth mobile browser experience – The mobile site mirrors the desktop layout, loads quickly, and keeps games and menus easy to reach, so you can move from lobby to cashier to pokies on your phone without confusion or fiddly scrolling.
Very High Safety Index rating – A Very high Safety Index score signals strong overall trustworthiness, which helps mobile players feel comfortable registering, banking, and playing on the move, knowing the casino's track record and terms have already been closely assessed.
Huge mobile game line-up – With more than 13,000 games, including thousands of slots, dedicated jackpot categories, instant games, and 213 exclusive titles, there is always something new to tap into, even during short mobile sessions while you are out and about.
Cons
No dedicated Wyns app – There is no downloadable iOS or Android app, so you miss features such as push notifications and a fully native feel that some players prefer for regular mobile play.
Frequent pop ups on small screens – Repeated bonus messages and cookie notices can cover much of the display on a phone, so you may need to close pop ups often before choosing games or navigating around the lobby.
Limited responsible gambling controls – The absence of built-in tools such as deposit, session, or bet limits makes it harder to set firm boundaries directly in your account, so players must manage time and spending habits using their own external methods.
🧠 Expert opinion: Wyns Casino's focus on a site design that works effectively on any mobile device, combined with its massive game library, makes it a solid option for any player who wants the convenience of gaming on the go.
Supabet - sleek gameplay at your hands
Supabet feels built for playing on your phone, with a sleek bright layout, crisp thumbnails, and local payment options like Skrill which are easy to tap the moment you log in. Its "High" Safety Index places it in the top 13% of casinos that we've reviewed.
New players can claim a 100% welcome bonus up to $1,000 plus 200 free spins, similar to Wyns Casino. Claiming it on mobile is simple: register, deposit, and accept the offer in a single tap, with funds and spins credited instantly. The 35x wagering on bonus and deposit, game weighting, and 10 day spin expiry are clearly explained, and ongoing offers like weekly reloads and cashback add extra value once you are settled in.
The game library is huge, with over 12,400 titles. There are thousands of pokies, stacks of Megaways and jackpot games, and a standout live casino with more than 650 tables and shows. Big name studios supply the action, including Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Play'n GO, and NetEnt, with favourites like Gates of Olympus, Sweet Bonanza, Book of Dead, Reactoonz, Starburst, and Gonzo's Quest all easy to find. Many pokies are available in demo mode, so you can try them for free first.
Payments are well set up for New Zealanders, with 19 deposit methods and 18 withdrawal options. Mastercard, Neosurf, Skrill, Neteller, bank transfer, and several cryptocurrencies are all supported. Deposits are instant, e-wallet withdrawals cleared within 24 hours when I tested, and crypto withdrawals can arrive in under an hour.Bank transfers stay slower, and crypto minimum withdrawals, especially for Bitcoin, are on the high side.
Pros
Great Safet Index score for player confidence – Supabet holds a "High" Safety Index score, placing it among the better rated casinos in our listings. This is earned with its clear terms, transparent rules, and a generally complaint-free track record.
Mobile-optimised with full feature access – The site resizes perfectly on phones, with no lag or formatting issues. You can access the full casino, live tables, sportsbook, cashier, promotions, and support from your browser, so there is no feeling of a cut-down mobile version.
Huge game line up and generous welcome – With over 12,400 games, a live casino packed with more than 650 titles, and top providers like Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Play'n GO, and NetEnt, the 100% up to $1,000 bonus plus 200 spins gives plenty of content to explore.
Cons
No dedicated mobile app – Supabet runs very well in mobile browsers, but there is no native app for iOS or Android. Players who like one tap access, home screen icons, and in-app notifications will not find those extra mobile comforts here.
Uncompetitive wagering and strict spin rules – The 35x wagering on bonus and deposit is standard rather than low, and game weighting means table games contribute less.
Limited controls – There are no in-account tools to set deposit, bet, or time limits, so you must manage these yourself.
🧠 Expert tip: Supabet feels purpose-built for mobile. The live casino is deep, the promos are easy to claim on your phone, and banking is quick. It's a confident all-round choice for players who want reliable, seamless gameplay wherever they are.
Top-rated NZ mobile apps – expert standout picks
Not all sites offer a solid casino app, given the limitations on downloading real money gambling apps in New Zealand. These sites are some of the best options which offer an app option, backed by our gold-standard Safety Index, measuring fair terms, complaint handling, and more.
LeoVegas – huge casino with a well-designed app
LeoVegas is one of the biggest casinos in the NZ gaming world. It's a well-trusted company with a good reputation for fairness of terms and conditions, large casino size, and no player complaints about withheld winnings.
Their "Very High" Safety Index score reflects that. Mobile players can claim the welcome offer just the same as desktop players, landing a 100% up to $1,000 deposit match + 3,000 free spins when they sign up and meet the minimum requirements.
The app for LeoVegas Casino is available for iOS devices and has been rated with a 4.4 in the App Store at the time of writing, enabling streamlined access to their full library of 5,000+ pokies, including a handful of originals like The Golden Lion. Live casino games are available at the tap of your thumb, along with all player site features like customer support and responsible gambling tools.
Pros
Good Safety Index rating – Huge casino with a Very high 9.5 Safety Index, putting it better than 95% of our listed sites, as well as Great user ratings.
Massive game library – Over 5,000 pokie titles from top developers like Pragmatic Play.
Exclusive game titles – Pick from both unique LeoVegas live titles as well as exclusive slots.
Cons
App is not available for Android users in New Zealand – Android players will need to use the browser version of the site.
Limited regular bonuses – LeoVegas has bonuses as part of their loyalty programme, but little in the way of recurring bonuses like reload bonuses compared to other sites like Vegasino.
JackpotCity – longest-running casino app
JackpotCity stands out with a "High" Safety Index, ranking in the top percentage of casinos which we've rated. It's not quite as high up the numbers as Wildz, for example, but it still has a pretty good reputation. Its mobile app also impresses, with a rating of 4.5 on iOS when we verified at the time of writing.
A major advantage is its great welcome bonus of $1,600 + 10 chances to play a potential high wins game. Payments are simple, with several options available in app form, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Skrill, ecoPayz, and Neteller. Just switch apps, and you're ready to play.
The library at JackpotCity Casino of around 700 games, is smaller than Wheelz's 3,000 and is a little low compared to the industry average, but it hosts a number of player favourites like the Amazing Link series of pokies.
If we have to pick up something to complain about, it's that the site is too mobile focused, with some issues when trying to load it on a desktop computer. For all mobile players, that's a benefit and not a downside, though.
Pros
Native app – Navigation, gameplay, and cashout are all faster and require fewer taps for mobile players. JackpotCity's mobile-first gameplay means that there will be a fully optimised experience with no awkward issues transferring from a computer to a mobile screen.
Generous welcome bonus with free spins – The bonus cash amount at JackpotCity is well beyond the average, as it gives players $1,600 across their first four deposits, and only lacks in the number of free spins, where there aren't any with the default welcome bonus.
Cons
Fewer games – It suffers from a very small number of games, hovering at around 700 titles compared to thousands at other casinos. But there is enough to keep most players, including myself, entertained.
Loyalty programme lacks transparency – Other sites like AllySpin make it clear what to expect from their loyalty programmes. Here, the details aren't obvious from the start, which can be off-putting for new players.
Play in minutes – how to download mobile casino apps (iOS & Android)
Players with an iOS device can install an app no problem. Android players won't be able to install their chosen app directly, which we'll cover more below. However, here's how to download and play casino apps on your iOS mobile device in minutes with this step-by-step guide:
Locate the official app – On the App Store, I search for the casino app by name, for example, JackpotCity, to ensure I get the official app. Always make sure you're on the official App Store app, or on the correct App Store site with Apple. Some less scrupulous sites make pages that look very similar to the real thing, so be sure to check that the URL is the official one.
Download and install – I tap Get or Install, and the casino app runs through the brief installation process. This shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes, depending on your internet connection.
Open and register – I open the app and look for the Join Now or Sign Up button to start the registration process.
Create login details – I then choose a username and password that I'll use to log in to my newly created account, or use my existing login if I already have an account. I like to sign up on the app to make sure the site is properly designed for mobile players, though.
Enter personal details – I fill in the form with my real details, including name, address, phone number, and any other information they need. I may also need to send extra verification documents here, to confirm my identity.
Agree to T&Cs – I tick the boxes to confirm I'm 18+, that the entered info is accurate, and that I have read and agree to the T&Cs.
Casino app or browser? What's better for playing on mobile
Playing mobile casino games can be done via either a downloadable app or directly on the casino's website using your mobile browser.
Personally, I prefer the all-inclusive, mobile-centric design of standalone apps, but here are the pros and cons of each to help you choose the right option for you.
Mobile app
Mobile site
✅ Optimised for iOS/Android devices
✅ No downloads or updates means you save storage space and are always using the most up-to-date software
✅ Designed specifically for mobile features like smaller touchscreens and face and fingerprint ID
✅ Compatible with almost all devices
❌ Download and updates require storage space on your device
❌ "One size fits all" approach may result in less-than-optimal UI and performance on smaller screens
❌ May not be compatible with older devices
❌ Geolocation checks via browsers can be less accurate and more disruptive
Expert tip: If you play often, apps usually give smoother geolocation, faster logins, and push offers. If you switch devices or want to save storage, stick with the browser version of your favourite NZ online casino for the best experience.
Android casino apps in New Zealand
Players wanting to play on a dedicated casino app may be disappointed when loading up the Google Play store in New Zealand. The Google Play terms and conditions state that only apps for sports betting or lotteries are allowed, and even then, only those run by governmental operators.
What does this mean for the average NZ player? This means you'll have to download any mobile casino app onto an iOS device if available, or play using the browser version of the site on your device.
Only casino apps for iOS are available officially from the Apple App Store, and we'd suggest caution if you're asked to install an app for Android directly via APK. Unofficial APKs can often be a weak point for security on your phone, so in this case, it's better to use the mobile browser site instead.
Thankfully, most new online casinos have a well-designed mobile site so you won't miss out when playing on your browser versus an app.
Behind the rankings – what makes a mobile casino app worth your time
Here's an insight into the key metrics we use to determine the quality and suitability of real money mobile casinos.
Winning UX – easy to use, easy to play
A casino app's performance, responsiveness, speed, stability, and geolocation all impact user experience. Games should be easy to locate, and the cashier and support should be accessible and straightforward.
Consider player feedback and reviews from the App Store and Google Play. Star ratings of 4+ paired with hundreds of thousands of reviews are a good indicator of stability across various devices. Checking trustworthy casino reviews, which include unbiased scoring like ours can help you pick between brands, as well.
Some casino apps aren't listed on the App Store or Google Play. While they may still be safe, they haven't gone through the same security checks. I always prefer apps from well-known platforms.
🧠 Expert tip: App store ratings are a good start but look deeper into the number of reviews for an indication of their weight. For example, a rating of 4.3 across 50,000 reviews may be more indicative than 4.5 across 500 reviews.
Bonuses that travel – promotions built for mobile
The benchmark for a good welcome bonus at a real money casino should be the industry average of 100% up to $1,000, perhaps with some more free spins. However, beyond big bonus numbers, a major indicator of a trustworthy site is the fairness of bonus T&Cs. We assess bonuses and promotions according to criteria including wagering requirements, game contributions, and clarity, particularly on mobile devices.
For example, Wildz Casino's welcome offer gives 100% up to $1,000 + 200 free spins, and the welcome bonus is explained in its own plain text dedicated page. A simple offer with easy-to-read T&Cs is easier to understand and follow on smaller screens, rather than picking through a lengthy legal text (which is also available, should you want to read it).
Our Safety Index values clear, straightforward terms and downgrades the rating of those that are unclear or unfair. We also like to see good value for money in terms of both upfront value and wagering requirements.
💡 Expert tip: Always check bonus T&Cs for unfair terms and make sure you understand any wagering requirements before claiming.
Games that fit your screen (and your style)
Analyse mobile casino game collections and compare them with the industry average of 3,000+ titles to identify the strongest sites.
I always test games in both landscape and portrait mode and evaluate them for performance on Wi-Fi and mobile networks. Pay close attention to the game providers. Apps featuring reputable developers like NetEnt, Evolution, and Pragmatic Play typically deliver higher-quality, mobile-optimised gameplay.
For sheer numbers, the Spinbara rates highly for its collection of 11,000+ games, which run well on mobile, while Wildz scores well for its unique in-house live dealer games like Wildz Blackjack.
💡 Expert tip: Quantity does not necessarily mean quality. Look for well-known games by reputable developers like Evolution and Pragmatic Play.
Cash in, cash out – how payment flow impacts rankings
Money matters, so it's worth comparing apps against industry benchmarks: withdrawal limits, processing times, available payment methods, and cashier usability on mobile devices. The best casino payout processes will nail all these areas.
Real money apps and sites typically offer 5 to 7 payment options, which is around average, including Skrill and Card for withdrawals. Withdrawals usually start at $10 to $20, with processing times of 2 to 5 business days. Crypto payments will be faster, with withdrawals processing fast, often within the hour.
Variety is important, especially with faster options like crypto and e-wallets. Internal approval times also make a difference: some apps impose up to 72 hours of pending time, low withdrawal limits, and limited payment options.
💡 Expert tip: Opt for e-wallet payments at online casinos for the fastest real money withdrawals (near instant, or less than 24 hours).
Real feedback, real impact on our rankings
Player feedback from app stores, forums, and complaints systems is a strong indicator of payment reliability. A few complaints are normal, but consistent reports about slow withdrawals or unclear bonus terms are warning signs.
💡 Expert tip: Our community is comprised of over 600,000 members, so you can get every side of the story, the good, the bad and the ugly.
Rated for responsibility – player protection features
The best apps make it easy to access responsible gaming tools like deposit limits, time reminders, cooling-off periods, and self-exclusion. These should be visible on menus and available in just a few taps.
Top sites like SkyCity Casino and Christchurch Casino highlight Responsible Gaming prominently, while less-trustworthy sites often bury or omit such tools entirely.
💡 Expert tip: Set limits as soon as you download and join a casino app, so you can start playing safely from the start.
Casino bonuses on the go – best offers for NZ mobile players
Before you settle on a bonus, take a look at some benchmarking, so you can assess based on industry standards for real money casino apps.
Mobile welcome bonuses – flashy or worth it?
Mobile casinos are most competitive when it comes to their welcome bonuses, with brands vying to offer the best. The industry standard on real money casino bonuses like Wildz is 100% up to $1,000 on first deposit.
Bear in mind that these bonuses come with wagering requirements, usually around 35x the bonus amount. Varying game contributions can make tracking these bonuses difficult on mobile devices.
💡 Expert tip: Look beyond the big numbers and assess value. Vegasino's 35x playthrough beats Win Rolla's 40x wagering and complex game contributions, especially on mobile.
Tap and go – which apps offer the best free spins?
Free spins are the perfect mobile perk, being easy to claim and play instantly and involving no upfront risk. Around 90% of real money apps offer free spins with an average of around 200 free spins available through welcome offers, or about 10-50 with daily/weekly promotions.
Vegasino, for example, offers 200 Free Spins as part of their welcome package.
💡 Expert tip: Use free spins to test-drive slots for performance on your mobile devices.
Mobile loyalty rewards
Around 95% of real money casinos apps offer loyalty and VIP programmes designed to reward regular gameplay through a progressive tiered system. The structure usually consists of 3 to 6 tiers that players can climb by earning points through play at an average rate of one point per $1 to $5 played.
As a player rises through the levels, they may be permitted more player benefits that enhance their overall casino experience like tailored bonuses or cashback offers.
Love slots? Poker? Here are the best casino games for mobile play
Some games perform better on mobile than others. Here's our guide to the best performing slots, table games, live dealer games, and sweepstakes-exclusive titles for mobile gameplay.
Spinning strong – why pokies dominate mobile play
Pokies are the most popular games by far, making up the lion's share of any casino's game library. They are perfect for mobile devices, with their fast-paced, single-tap gameplay and portrait or landscape mode compatibility.
The number of mobile real money pokies typically sits between 3,000+ like at Wheelz to more than 11,000 such as at Supabet, but it's not all about quantity. Quality collections include a mix of engaging slots like Bonanza from the Megaways series (117,649+ ways to win), Wolf Gold with its Hold and Win mechanism, and progressive jackpots like Mega Moolah. The tumbling reels/avalanche effect of disappearing symbols was made famous by NetEnt's Gonzo's Quest.
Supabet goes one step further with its own exclusive games – over 140 of them, in fact. It's not unusual to find a couple of exclusive titles at a site, but this number is far more than average.
💡 Expert tip: On mobile, you can often search for slots by mechanism or feature like cascade, doubled wilds, or free spins. You can then play pokies for free to figure out which you like the most, before you bet with real money.
Table games on mobile – quick, classic, and strategic
Non-live or RNG table games like real money blackjack and video poker are generally a good choice for mobile gameplay thanks to their simple design and quickfire rounds. More complex games like Craps are less suited to mobile devices.
All real money casino apps have the four main table games of blackjack, real money roulette, baccarat, and video Poker. The average collection includes 20 to 50 games, while a leader like Vegasino stocks more than 210.
💡 Expert tip: Choose single-deck Blackjack and European Roulette, which combine simple, mobile-friendly performance with the best odds compared to other variants.
Live play, anywhere – from studio to smartphone
Almost every major NZ real money casino app (95%) features live dealer games, including stalwarts Blackjack, Roulette, and Baccarat. The average collection includes 30 to 50 tables, while bigger names like Vegasino offer 400+.
Live game shows like Evolution's Dream Catcher, Lightning Roulette, Football Studio, and Crazy Time add a TV show level of excitement and engagement. These can be found in the "Game Shows" tab of mobile lobbies.
💡 Expert tip: Make sure your phone is fully charged, and you've got a good Wi-Fi connection for live dealer games. Play in landscape mode for the best experience.
Crash, fish shooting and other skill games
Crash Games, Fish Shooting Games, and other skill-based titles like Minesweeper, which offer fast-paced, player-driven action compared to traditional slots or table games.
Crash-style games, popularised with titles such as Spribe's Aviator, are available in many online casinos.
Arcade-inspired titles such as Plinko and Mines have also been added by major developers like Pragmatic Play and can be found across many NZ casinos like Wildz.
On most regulated NZ platforms, you'll typically find 10 to 20 of these games, giving players a modern alternative to conventional slot or table gameplay.
💡 Expert tip: These formats are designed with mobile in mind, offering short, engaging rounds that play more like casual gaming apps.
Mobile money moves – fast payments & easy redemptions
Money still matters on mobile. Here are the best options for deposits, withdrawals, and redemptions on casino apps.
Debit Cards – quick to add, not always fast to withdraw
Often a first choice for new players, debit cards can easily be added to your account to both deposit and withdraw. They're accepted everywhere, but they're not very fast for payouts.
💡 Expert tip: Although accepted everywhere, you'll get your money faster using an e-wallet or prepaid card.
Speedy payouts with a swipe – Skrill and other e-wallets explained
Skrill offer face and or fingerprint authentication, making it perfect for mobile payments alongside other e-wallets. The main benefit is speed, with withdrawals and redemptions sometimes processed and received within minutes.
💡 Expert tip: If you don't already have an e-wallet, choose one based on availability, ease of use, and speed for the casinos where you plan to play.

Pro mobile casino tips to help every NZ player
Get the most out of your mobile gaming experience with our expert tips:
Test it both ways – Play demo games in portrait and landscape mode to make sure they're suitable for playing on mobile.
Use Wi-fi when possible – Playing games on a stable internet connection will keep them running fast, and will prevent issues from going offline suddenly.
Keep your device updated – Install security and software updates as soon as possible to make sure your mobile runs well and is secure.
Use your phone's Do Not Disturb mode – You can turn off app notifications from your casino apps during certain times. This is a great way to play safely by imposing soft limits on your gameplay.
Common mobile casino myths (busted)
Take a look as I bust the biggest myths when it comes to mobile casinos:
"Mobile casino games are rigged" – False. Licensed casinos use games controlled by random number generators (RNG) to ensure fair outcomes. This is one reason for licensing factors in our Safety Index.
"Mobile games pay out less than on desktop" – False. The same version of the game is on both the app and desktop, with the same return to player (RTP). The math does not change between platforms.
"A slot is due to pay out after a long losing streak" – False. This is called the "gambler's fallacy" and it holds no water. RNGs have no memory, with every slot outcome completely independent of previous ones.
