JackpotCity Casino Review

With over two decades of experience from its launch in 1998, Jackpot City holds a commendable 8.0 Safety Index score from Casino Guru. It blends a respectable library of over 500 pokies, a $1,600 welcome bonus, tournaments, and a native app. Check out what you can expect as a new player at this well-established casino.

Key facts about Jackpot City Casino

Game Count 500+
Top providers Microgaming, Pragmatic Play

My first impressions of Jackpot City Casino

Jackpot City greets you with a vibrant, intuitive interface that feels both relaxed and familiar. I immediately noticed the prominent display of its current promotions and a well-organised game lobby, which made finding my favourite pokies straightforward.

The 8.0 Safety Index score puts the casino into the High safety category, ahead of local competitors like Christchurch Casino. This High score, as well as its Alderney eGaming licence and long history of operation (since 1998), immediately provided me with the confidence that I was playing on a secure platform.

Signing up and claiming the welcome bonus was quick. The site clearly signposts its terms, which is a hallmark of a transparent operator. While the design might feel less flashy than newer rivals like Wheelz Casino, its functionality and reliability are immediately apparent.

What I loved

  • High wagering requirements – The welcome package is generous, but comes with a 40x wagering requirement on the free spins. This is on par with the industry average, but is notably steeper than Cristal Poker, which has no wagering requirements., which has no wagering requirements.
  • A powerhouse welcome bonus – The $1,600 matched bonus spread over four deposits is genuinely substantial. It gives new players a lengthy runway to explore the vast game library. Compared to the average NZ welcome package of around $1,000 in bonus funds (like at Big Clash), this is higher than most.
  • A true live casino destination – The live dealer section, powered primarily by Pragmatic Play, is a standout. With multiple tables for blackjack, roulette, and baccarat at various stake levels, it feels like a complete experience, rivalling what I've seen on dedicated live casino platforms such as Vegasino's.
  • Proven track record and trust – There's a certain peace of mind that comes with a casino operating since 1998. Its longevity and high Safety Index are good signs, and it has been operating much longer than most competitors.

What could be improved

  • Outdated design elements – While functional, some visual elements feel a decade old. The graphics and fonts aren't as sleek or modern as those on sites like Wildz or Wheelz. A visual refresh would bring it in line with current design trends.
  • Limited payment options for Kiwis – While it supports 9 deposit methods, only 3 are accepted for withdrawals and bank transfers are nowhere to be seen, unlike other sites which have better payment support, such as Supabet. This limits flexibility for players who prefer these faster or more secure transaction methods.

A metropolis of bonuses waiting downtown

Jackpot City's welcome offer is a classic and generous four-tier package. Upon my first deposit of $10, I received a 100% match (so an extra $10 to play with). The maximum bonus on one deposit is up to $400. This process repeats on your next three deposits, totalling $1,600 in bonus funds.

The terms are clearly stated, but the 35x wagering requirement on the bonus amount is a key factor to consider. While the casino welcome bonus is generous, the wagering requirement puts it on the same level as competitors, as noted in my SkyCity Casino review. Of course, when you get into the fine detail, you find that Jackpot City has a slightly higher max bet on bonus funds than SkyCity ($8 to SkyCity's $5), a reminder as to why I always check through the T&Cs before I commit.

Beyond the welcome, I found consistent value in the daily and weekly promotions. Regular reload bonuses, free spin offers, and a comprehensive loyalty program ensure there's almost always something new.

Bonus highlights

  • A generous, multi-tiered welcome – The $1,600 package is one of the most substantial for new NZ players, only beaten by sites like Wyns with $4,000 across their first three deposits. Spreading it over four deposits helps manage bankroll and extends the excitement of being a new customer.
  • Rewarding loyalty program – The loyalty program is tiered and meaningful. I started off at Bronze and was able to easily go up the levels and earn points to trade in for casino credit. Climbing the tiers unlocks personalised bonuses, and a dedicated account manager.
  • Daily offers – The casino frequently offers match bonuses on deposits made by players, which can be different every day.

Bonus downsides

  • The loyalty program has limits – From my research, it seems that even if you climb higher up the loyalty program, your prizes will mostly be points to convert into bonus funds. It would be nice to see cashback or higher limit perks, like the kind of progression you'll find at MafiaCasino, or level ups with bonuses like at Wheelz.

Bonus overview

Bonus type Bonus specifics Wagering requirements
Welcome bonus 100% up to $1,600 35x
Daily Deal Log in, earn bonuses 35x on free spins
Refer a Friend Bonus $50 Bonus Funds 35x

💡Expert tip: Focus on low-volatility pokies for a better chance to meet the high wagering requirements. Games with frequent, smaller wins will help you clear the bonus balance more consistently than chasing large, infrequent jackpots.

Jackpot City Casino's game library – Pokies and live tables take the spotlight

Jackpot City's library, while not the largest at 500+ games, is a curated collection of quality titles. It focuses heavily on real money pokies, which is perfect for the NZ market, and features a world-class live casino suite. The count is tiny compared to Vegasino Casino's game library of 11,000+ pokie titles, which might dampen enjoyment for players who like to explore.

The selection, however, is dominated by top-tier provider Microgaming, which may go some way to explaining the small number of titles. I played on popular titles like Mega Moolah, Fortunium, and Wacky Panda from this developer, but there wasn't much to pick from beyond their admittedly extensive (for one provider) lineup. That being said, the search and filter functions made it easy to find specific games or discover new ones by feature, such as "Jackpot" or "Buy Bonus".

Game highlights

  • A premier live casino experience – The Pragmatic Play-powered live dealer section is exceptional. With multiple camera angles, professional dealers, and a wide variety of tables and limits, it's one of the best experiences available to NZ players, even though it's not from industry giants Evolution.
  • Excellent game organisation – Finding what you want is incredibly easy. The lobby allows you to filter by provider, a feature I always appreciate, and highlights new and popular games prominently. It eliminates the endless scrolling of larger, less organised casinos.

What could be improved?

  • The table game gap – Beyond live dealers, the selection of digital table games like blackjack and roulette is limited. There are only a few RNG-powered versions, which may disappoint players who prefer these over live games.
  • Very limited game library – The site's selection of about 500 games is extremely limited. Although they offer high-quality titles, a better choice of games to play including new and smaller studios would be a great benefit. Players looking for more casino games to play might want to look elsewhere.

Live casino

The live casino is a clear strength. Hosted by Pragmatic Play, it offers a comprehensive range of games from the developer including ONE Blackjack and other select tables. I found blackjack and roulette tables, baccarat, and gameshow titles. The streaming quality was flawless, and the betting limits cater to both casual and high-stakes players.

While the game quantity isn't as high as at other sites, which we've noted above, it's still a collection of games from high-quality providers. Live roulette, blackjack, and baccarat are on the cards at Jackpot City, while other games like gameshows don't really make an appearance. As I found in my Wildz review, gameshows are becoming increasingly popular for NZ players.

Play for free

Nearly every pokie on the site is available as a demo mode casino game. This was perfect for testing new games like Chilli Inferno or understanding the mechanics of a title like Fortune Pike Gold without risking any real money. It's a crucial feature that not all casinos offer so comprehensively.

Software providers

Jackpot City's strategy is quality over quantity. While larger casinos like Vegasino or Supabet could have as many as over a hundred game developers in their library, Jackpot City instead partners with just a select few industry leaders.

  • Microgaming – The foundational provider, offering a huge suite of classic and modern pokies, including the iconic Mega Moolah progressive network. They're also the parent company of smaller studios that have their games listed in Jackpot City, such as Gameburger Studios (9 Masks of Fire), and SpinPlay (Amazing Link Frenzy).
  • Pragmatic Play – A huge name in live casino as well as pokies, providing the stunning live dealer tables that Jackpot City offers in its live game lobby.

This focused approach means you're always playing top-quality games from trusted studios. Jackpot City's 500+ games are all from A-list developers, so although the library is smaller than we like, it's highly-curated.

💡Expert tip: Microgaming is the parent company of 12 studios, and is itself owned by Games Global. You can find their games in almost every online casino.

Payments to kick off your games in the city

Jackpot City offers a small but solid range of trusted casino payment methods for NZ players, focusing on security and reliability. Deposits are instant and free across all methods, which include Visa, Mastercard, Neteller, and ecoPayz.

Withdrawals are subpar compared to other sites, with only Visa, ecoPayz, and Neteller available. While all these methods are relatively fast, with funds returning to the account after cashing out within 1–3 days (though often less than 24 hours), the lack of options for players here is a significant drawback. Bank transfer seems to be completely absent as a payment option, which is standard on almost every other site.

What's more, the minimum withdrawal amount is $50, which is significantly higher than that of competitors like Wildz and Supabet casino, both of which have industry-average minimums of $20.

Payment strengths

  • Strong security protocols – All transactions are encrypted, and the casino's longstanding reputation means you can trust it with your financial details. I felt completely secure making deposits and requesting withdrawals.
  • Apple and Google Pay – The inclusion of Apple Pay and Google Pay is a major plus for NZ players. It allows for instant, fee-free deposits directly from your bank account, which is a preferred method for many Kiwis.

Weaknesses

  • Lack of bank transfer – The absence of bank transfer as an option is a notable omission. This is an industry standard, and it's surprising that a site as established as Jackpot City has missed the mark on this.
  • Withdrawal options – There are only 3 withdrawal methods compared to the site's 9 deposit options, making it annoying to withdraw if you need to set up another payment account.
  • High withdrawal minimums – Starting off withdrawals at a minimum of $50 is steep, and far higher than other sites.

Payment deposit and withdrawal speed at a glance

Method Min deposit Min withdrawal Withdrawal time Extra information
Visa/Mastercard $5 $50 1–3 days Widely accepted
Apple Pay & Google Pay $5 N/A N/A Great for mobile players

💡Expert tip: For the quickest casino withdrawals, deposit using the same method as you plan to withdraw from, and complete any customer verification as soon as possible.

How to deposit at Jackpot City Casino

  1. Log in and go to 'Bank'.
  2. Select 'Deposit' and choose your preferred payment method (e.g., Visa).
  3. Enter the amount (minimum $5) and your payment method details.
  4. Confirm the transaction. The funds and any applicable bonus were credited to my account instantly.

Safety and licence

Jackpot City's 8.0 Safety Index score is a nice plus when checking out the site, which, although not as high as some of the heavy hitters, is still a very respectable level to have reached. This High rating from Casino Guru is based on a number of factors, like a low number of player complaints and clear T&Cs.

Beyond the Safety Index it also has a solid range of responsible gambling tools and a strong Alderney Gambling Control Commission licence. It does lose a little in our scoring because of its lack of reaction policy to complaints (leaving them unresolved in our complaints hub), and some of their T&Cs aren't ideal in our opinion, such as some game or bonus restrictions on the player.

The casino provides tools for deposit limits (which can be daily, weekly, and monthly), self-exclusion (either for 24 hours to cool off, or a minimum of 6 months for longer breaks), and self-assessments with links to support resources, demonstrating a genuine commitment to player well-being.

The casino also boasts accreditation from eCOGRA, earning its Safe and Fair Seal for their compliance with eCOGRA's eGAP requirements. This means that their games have been verified as fair, the site functions honestly and responsibly, and that player deposits and security are safe. They also provide a payout percentage report, in an effort to be transparent in their operations, which is always a good sign for players.

Safety: what it does well

  • Good licensing – The Alderney Gambling Control Commission is a long-established standard. It mandates strict operational guidelines, regular audits, and ensures player protection protocols are in place and enforced.
  • Effective responsible gambling tools – The tools provided are comprehensive and easy to use. Setting a deposit limit took me seconds, and the option for temporary or permanent self-exclusion is clear and accessible.
  • eCOGRA compliance – Their collaboration with eCOGRA to meet their high standards for player safety is always a plus, so I'd mark this as a firm positive point for player safety and peace of mind.

What could be improved?

  • More licensing would be a plus – While the Alderney licence is solid from a legal perspective, it's always reassuring to see a casino having more than one. It would be an improvement from my perspective if they had another licence from the UKGC or MGA, for instance, as these are well-regarded for player safety.
  • Some changes to improve the safety score – It would be nice to see an improvement in some of their operations, such as changing the no-response rule to complaints and changing some of their more unfair T&Cs.

Mobile casino

Jackpot City offers a fully responsive mobile site that works seamlessly on iOS and Android browsers. There is also a mobile casino app available for both operating systems, which runs faster than on your phone browser (if you have no extras running in the background), and connects to your payment options seamlessly.

I tested it on my iPhone, and the experience was excellent. The games loaded quickly, the touchscreen controls were responsive, and the full functionality of the desktop site was preserved, including banking and support access. The game library on mobile is complete, with all pokies and live dealer games available.

Mobile highlights

  • Fully optimised experience – The mobile site is not an afterthought. It's a smooth, intuitive, and complete replica of the desktop experience. I encountered no lag or formatting issues during my gameplay.
  • Full game access – Every game available on desktop is also available on mobile. The live casino streams were perfectly smooth, and pokies played without a hitch.

What could be improved?

  • App isn't on the official store – The app has to be installed from a third-party source. This is generally not advised, but you can play on your browser instead if you prefer not to install it.

Customer support

My experience with Jackpot City's customer support was efficient and professional. The primary channel is a 24/7 live chat, which can be found in their Help Centre. However, I found that this was a chatbot that reproduced the same answers that are found in the FAQ section. It was difficult to get in touch with a human agent, and I had to ask it twice. This is a step down from most of the site we've written balanced casino reviews for, and is a bit disappointing.

However, email support is also available, with responses promised within 24 hours. This isn't too bad for casino email support response times, so players can at least speak to a human agent like this.

The FAQ section is extensive and well-organised, covering a vast range of topics from registration to withdrawals. I was able to find answers to most of my questions there without needing to contact support.

Good experiences with customer support

  • Knowledgeable agents – The live chat agents are trained to handle a variety of queries efficiently. My question was answered accurately, although it did take two attempts to reach them after the AI chatbot.
  • Comprehensive FAQ – The help section is one of the most detailed I've seen. It's searchable and categorised, allowing players to self-serve for common issues quickly.

What could be better

  • Difficult to reach a human agent – While live chat is useful, it would be far more efficient to get in touch with a human agent immediately. This is a major drawback for me, as I prefer to resolve any queries in a time-efficient way without having to go back and forth trying to get past the AI chatbot

How we tested it

Channel Response time
Live Chat 1–2 minutes (chatbot)
Email 24 hours

How to register, claim, and play

Registering at Jackpot City is a standard and straightforward process that I completed in under five minutes.

  1. Click 'Sign Up' – On the homepage, click the orange button and fill in the registration form with your email, password, phone number, and personal details like name and date of birth.
  2. Verify your account – You'll need to verify your email address by clicking a link sent to your inbox. This is a crucial step for security.
  3. Make a deposit – Head to the cashier, choose your payment method, and make your first deposit (minimum $5).
  4. Claim your bonus – The welcome bonus is typically added automatically, but always check the promotions page before you register to ensure you can meet the minimum requirements.

The entire process was smooth, with no hidden steps or complications. Just ensure you enter your details accurately to avoid verification delays later when you withdraw.

Final verdict – A secure and generous pokie powerhouse

Jackpot City Casino proves that experience counts. It may not have the flashiest design or the very largest game library, but what it does, it does exceptionally well.

Its greatest strength is its security. The 8.0 Safety Index score and Alderney Gambling Control Commission licence provide a level of trust that is paramount for online play. Coupled with a generous welcome package, a stellar live casino, and a curated selection of top-tier pokies, it delivers a complete and reliable gambling experience.

The high withdrawal minimums, lack of bank transfer, and questionable T&Cs are notable drawbacks, but are balanced by the site's overall professionalism and player-focused features like comprehensive responsible gambling tools and 24/7 support.

For players seeking a long-established and fun online NZ casino focused on quality pokies from good providers and live dealer games, Jackpot City remains a solid choice in 2026.

Jackpot City has the coolest games.of which many offer multiple ways to win bonuses. Not the boring, 3 books/symbol/12 spins. I love this site. I've played Hollywood for ages and never won any of their "prize drops". On JC I've won two small prize drops in the first week.
  • Love the games, and they actually pay out

I had purchased a visa gift card which I have used before for 25$ and made a deposit. It failed, I tried again. it failed. Again and it failed. So I try on other sites and it fails. So look up the card on Visa site and it's activated and showing the deposits at jackpot are pending which is locking it up from being used anywhere else. So I contact a live agent and I responded less than 2 seconds. It was probably 2 minutes after that I get another response. I explain what is going on and again minutes before response. Then asks me if it's correct I want to close my account. I requested to cancel those transactions so I can use it elsewhere. After 15-20 minutes of his stalling me games I told him they are thieves and left the chat. Never had this issue before with them. Brutal experience. Don't deserve your money

I put $25 into jackpot casino (first time on this casino) I won $13,000 lost some and cashed out $8,500 and it took about 2 business days and the money was in my account. I played only blazing bison the entire time. Bought myself a 86inch smart tv and new surround sound system. Have won a few hundred since then nothing major but verification process was easy
  • Easy withdrawal
  • Easy variation
  • Only won it big once

I have only been playing here a few days but I am really enjoying the site so far. One thing I really like about it is the fact that it does not require you to download any software prior to playing. You can begin playing their games immediately without having to worry about anything. I was also really impressed by the fact that they offer both a fun play option and a real play option. Not all online gaming spaces allow you this option and so I was really excited to see this. My favorite gaming at the site is definitely their slots. They have a really nice selection to choose from and lots of pay lines. As far as the other games, they offer a little bit of everything, including video poker and table games. I haven’t spent too much time with anything other than the slots at this point, but I plan on trying the other games out.

7 days ago I submitted 2 withdrawals. The first was a $3000 , the second was a$10,000. I have verified account previously and prior to these submissions made a number of significant withdrawals.. They both went into pending stage, then after a few days returned to casino account as "processing "A few emails of enquire are yet to be answered. It seems there is no other facility to contact them directly . All I require is some information to explain the process , if there are any issues that need rectifying on my part, and an explanation as to how this substantial withdrawal couldn't be processed like the prior withdrawals? At this point this isn't a complaint or a negative aspect more a frustrating situation from exhausted attempts to know what's happening here?

My friend recommended me this casino and I've started to play here a few weeks ago. I like the fact that I constantly win and get different bonuses on a daily basis. I have to note that I have not tried to withdraw my winnings yet, so let's see if it will be easy.

An okay casino with a lot of deposit methods and games. I play here because I win a lot. But, they take a long to withdraw and in my opinion their design is outdated.

Made couple deposits over the past 2 weeks, hardly any win, but they let u play, on average, all the wins i got never exceeded the amount i deposited, so, if u deposit the minimums 10eur, u will get max 20-30 if ur lucky, but to withdraw u need 50 eur, so it's a dead end if u play on the low.
The bonus wheel is a joke, i spin it couple times every day for the past 2 weeks and never won anything. No bonuses in promotions sections too.
Took 3 days to verify profile without problems.

I've played this online casino site for many years, and was very happy with this site, paid out all the time. Unfortunately three weeks ago my opinion of this site drastically changed. After management requesting my verified ID (again), which I readily supplied, no one from this site is responding to my emails. I've tried their chat line however I'm constantly being told my documents are under review, (3weeks and still waiting). This site has my winnings and is not responding to my emails. Warning stay clear of this casino!!!

My usual provincial online casino was down for maintenance for some hours so I decided to try this one out.. big mistake. I put in $25 via e-transfer, did the usual up and down and ended up losing. Went back to my usual and still under maintenance, so I put in another $30 via e-transfer. It didn’t seem to go through but said it could take 15 minutes, so I waited. About an hour later I decided it must not have gone through, so I did it again and my $30 showed up immediately. It says if your transfer doesn’t get accepted it’ll be declined and refunded so I wasn’t worried. I played with my $30 and lost again, no big deal, decided to go to bed. Now this morning I went to see if I got my failed e-transfer back, and I had received an email from the casino with a simple link to cancel the transfer if I didn’t want it to go through, so I clicked it and it came up with a "transaction cancelled". Cool. So I checked the bank a few hours later and they had not refunded my money. They had attached their version of a "bonus" to it so they matched my deposit. Now because of this, I can’t withdraw my funds, because they have a 70x wagering requirement. So for me to get my $30 back I have to either deal with the nightmare of casino customer service, or somehow win and gamble $2100 before I’m able to cash out anything. It wasn’t even wager $70 before you can take $1, it’s just a straight you must now wager $2100 (or 70x your deposit) until you can withdraw anything. Now annoyed and completely uninterested, I find no option anywhere to have my account terminated. I found an email that says just send an email to this address and list a reason for termination… they responded with an automated message that said this mailbox is not monitored, here’s the link for gamblers anonymous. Remarkably displeased.
