Case summary

The player's withdrawal was delayed as the casino changed his payment method without any prior notice. The casino stated that the payment had been sent by check as this was the method used for previous withdrawals. However, the check was never received. After some time, the casino stated that they had canceled the payment by check due to the delays and would reissue the payment via Bitcoin. The player then received payment, although it seems some fees were applied without explanation. At this point, the player stated that they considered the matter to be resolved.

I had put in for a withdrawal with SlotsofVegas. I had requested a wire and had set up an account that could accept international wires as my previous withdrawal was by check and it took a month to clear. I checked in a week after withdrawal was approved (with the appropriate bonus take backs) and asked when I should expect the wire. I was informed that they, without contacting me, decided to send me a check instead and that they had sent it on June 23. Still no check and when I try to call customer support, it ask for a 6 digit code. I have never been provided with a code. I then reached out thru on line chat and they are not responding at all.

Any assistance you can provide would be much appreciated. Please let me know if you need further details.

Best regards,

Peter Leibowitz

Hello Pleibowitz44,

Thank you very much for submitting your complaint and I'm really sorry to hear about your issue with Slots of Vegas Casino. Please allow me to ask you a few more question before we would move forward.

When exactly did you request for the withdrawal? Was this your first ever withdrawal request in this casino? Did they respond to you in any way since they changed the payment method?

In your case I would probably just wait if the check arrives or not. Usually a withdrawal request may take up to 14 days but might be even longer by check depending on the country of residence of both casino and the player.

Looking forward to your answer.

Regards,

Nick

Hi Nick,

I had done a withdrawal before. I received that check but it took 4 weeks to clear as it was a Canadian check ( I'm in Massachusetts)

I had set up another account with a bank that takes international wires for the specific purpose of expediting the process. They did not inform me that they decided to do a check until I reached out to them. It took 2 weeks for them to process the request (expected) but now it has been just over 2 weeks since the date they say they sent it (6/23)

I still don't understand why they did not follow my request to wire

Hello Pleibowitz44,

Seems strange that the casino did it without asking it but as long as the check arrives, we can't consider it that something wrong is going on. Did they at least explain the reason behind changing the payment method?

All they said is they decided to do it since they had that info already. Makes no sense as they had my wire info too. Still no check 2.5 weeks after they say they sent

Greetings all,

The payment was issued by the casino to our 3rd party payment providers on the 23rd of June for disbursal as a physical check. As a general rule we are looking at 3-10 business days on delivery but it is indeed a physical check and sometimes we see a bit of a delay on delivery. If it still hasn't arrived (an email notification from the courier will come to your inbox) by the middle of next week I can look into it.

When the check does arrive make sure it is physically deposited at a bank branch (not ATM or dropbox), and probably best not to mention online gaming to the bank.

We were able to locate your submitted bank wire details Pleibowitz44, let me know once the check arrives and one of my representative will reach out to confirm a couple details so we can make sure we have your account set up for wire transfer moving forward.

Best wishes,

Nick and Slots of Vegas

I had provided all the necessary wire info so as to avoid the delays that cone with receiving a check and then the time it takes to clear. My last check from slots arrived within the first week ir two of being sent but then took 4 weeks to clear. I opened a new account that accepted international wire to avoid this specific situation. I provided all necessary wire transfer info at the time of withdrawal request. This response still doesn't address why Slots of Vegas disregarded my withdrawal request method and now I'm still left waiting for my money and may have the same issue with having to wait an extended period of time for a check to clear. In my opinion, at this point, I'd like to see you put a stop on the check and process the wire as requested with the info I already provided. Asking me to keep waiting shows a total lack of concern for proper customer service and feels like continued run around.

Dear Nick and Slots of Vegas,

Thank you for the information. Could you please advise if the player's request to stop the check and process the payment by wire transfer would be a possibility?

Kind regards,

Adam

Greetings all,

Unfortunately the payout system isn't as simple as we would all prefer, we depend on 3rd party payment providers and must adhere to their particular directives in order to facilitate payment. Payment is issued by the casino to the 3rd party using the approved payment details on file in the player account, in this case the approved method of withdrawal on file was still registered as check payment.

It is of course possible to switch to wire payment however it's not as simple as requesting it to be paid as wire in the requested withdrawal. The necessary account details and documentation must be first submitted and reviewed to assure that payment can be made to that specific account as required by the 3rd party payment providers.

There are still a few minor details required and we have reached out to assist in the changeover for future withdrawals. That said, cancelling a physical check carries a $250 fee from the 3rd party which is removed before payment is reissued to the player as well as the subtraction of the wire fees. Also there is the issue of time in terms of reissue of payment and delivery from the 3rd party which cumulatively could equal the bank processing time on the check.

It's not ideal, and pleases no one least of all us. Certainly we all wish (none more than us) that this process could be simplified (crypto currency is paving the way for a brighter and more efficient future we believe) but this is the situation currently.

In short, the most prudent plan of action is to be patient and stick with the current withdrawal method I'm afraid.

As an organization we do apologize for the delay and any undue stress, hopefully the check will be delivered shortly and processed by the bank in good time.

Best wishes,

Nick and Slots of Vegas

I find the answer and lack of resolution highly unsatisfactory. At this point I expect I'll never see my money and that I'm getting a ton of run around. $250 to cancel a check is ridiculous. The lack of transparency on the wire vs. Check sounds way too canned and probably used regularly to beat unsatisfied clients in to submission.

Dear Pleibowitz44,

I can certainly appreciate your frustration, but sometimes it is the case that the casino is not entirely in control of which payment methods are available and fees may be charged by the third-party payment provider. It seems that in this situation, in order to avoid paying unnecessary fees, the best thing to do is to find out what has happened to this check payment.

Dear Nick and Slots of Vegas,

Can I just clarify that the reason for not being able to use Wire transfer as the payment method is because it had not been verified? Is there any way to track the check/courier?

Kind regards,

Adam

Just to update. Still no check despite the claim it was sent out on June 23, not requested to be sent but sent. As for the wire, I provided all required info at time of request, nothing additional was asked of me and they should have all they needed to process.

Just to do a daily update. Still nothing. Looking in to any thing I can do to report them to some type of international authority as I don't believe they have or ever had any intent on paying me out this time. Adam can you suggest any place that may be appropriate. I'll start with U.S. and Costa Rican authorities but open to suggestions

Hello Pleibowitz44,

It seems the casino operates without a recognized license, so there is no regulatory authority to turn to in this case. The casino lists CDS (Central Dispute System) as its alternate dispute resolution service, so you could try to submit a complaint to them (https://www.centraldisputesystem.com/form.asp?casinoID=209).

Hey all,

I would like to clarify that much of this is well beyond our control and just the nature of allowing US based players to exercise their freedom to play and win with us.

That said, we have been informed that there are logistical delays related to disbursal of physical checks at the moment thus the delay on delivery. Due to this situation and the fact that this particular check has yet to be physically issued I have gotten special approval to recall the disbursed funds initially issued for check payment and have them re-disbursed for payment as Bitcoin.

It will not be instantaneous however once the re-allocation is complete within the financial system we should see those funds sent to your approved Bitcoin account Pleibowitz44 in the coming business days at no additional charge to yourself.

Let us know when that comes in.

Best wishes, and I do apologize for the delay.

Sincerely,

Nick and Slots of Vegas

Just as an update. Still no deposit on my end. Not sure I understand why the funds need to be pulled back when it was stated above that no actual check was ever cut. I would think the $40 wire or check fee would no longer be deducted bring8ng the total to $2130.50

This just keeps getting dragged out

Hello all,

Thank you for the updates and additional information.

Dear Pleibowitz44,

It may not be entirely ideal, but it seems that if the payment is sent by bitcoin it will arrive much quicker. Please do continue to keep us updated on any progress.

Resolved. Three were charges previously taken out for processing a check that should have been added back in since no check. It looks like they took another $30 out on top of that. No idea for what. Horrendous site as reflected by their poor ratings.
