The player's cooling off period failed as he was able to deposit on the next day. The complaint was closed as rejected as the casino did everything by it's terms and conditions.
Hi, I joined this casino about two weeks ago because it was one of the few that had responsible gambling options (loss limit, deposit limit, cool-down period and self-exclusion). This aspect was very important to me as I have often had problems with compulsive gambling.
After depositing and losing around € 1100 in the first few days, I decided to apply a 7-day cooling period. Applying this limit I assumed that it was respected without problems and that I could not lose any more money for at least a week. Instead it happens that after 24 hours I get an email in which by typing a link I can cancel the freezing of my account to make it active again and immediately. I do this and thus manage to deposit and lose two more deposits (€ 450 + € 260).
I therefore ask for a refund of € 710 of these deposits because the casino has not respected fair play on responsible gaming. If a player decides to freeze the game account for a certain period this must be respected and must not be given the opportunity to reconsider after just 24 hours. It would be a useless and deceptive option for the player. My account has now been closed.
Thanks for collaboration.
Hello carsix79,
Thank you very much for submitting your complaint and I'm really sorry to hear about your issue with Casinonic Casino. Please allow me to ask you a few more question before we would move forward.
When exactly did you request for the cool off period? How long after that did you deposit again? Did you contact the casino with this issue and if yes, what was their respond? Is your account permanently self excluded at the moment?
Looking forward to your answer.
Regards,
Nick
The suspension of the account was requested by me on April 22nd directly from the casino site and after 24 hours, that is on April 23rd, they allowed me to reactivate the gaming account and on the same day I deposited € 450 and subsequently € 260. I have contacted the casino but they do not respond to my emails. The live chat support is useless in these cases and delegates everything to the mail support which, as mentioned, does not respond. My account was closed (without self-exclusion) as per my chat request as I didn't want to lose any more money.
this is what is written in the casino terms and conditions. It is not written that the cooling period can be canceled after 24 hours.
This is the embarrassing conversation I had with the agent via chat who did not want to answer my specific request.
Hello carsix79,
Did you mention any gambling addiction to the casino when requesting for the closure? Unfortunately the cooling off period can be canceled in almost every casino only by logging into your account again or requesting the casino to reopen your account. It is much different from self exclusion which is meant for addicted people - in that case you can never reopen your account by your own.
The freezing of the account is foreseen on their website in the responsible gaming section and in their terms and conditions it is not written that it can be revoked. You don't have to mention gambling problems because it is done directly and automatically from the gambling site. You can decide how long to suspend the use of the account by selecting the period (a week, a month, etc.) and automatically and immediately the account is suspended. The purpose of this is to stop for a few days so as not to lose money, what other reason would there be otherwise given that it is part of the responsible gaming section of the casino? The fact that other casinos do not comply with this request does not find justification in response to my complaint. Casinos must learn to respect the rules and not just enforce them by the player who is also in a position of weakness.
If they have created a system to protect the compulsive gambler by allowing him to take a break for a specific period why do they have to give the possibility to revoke this request after just 24 hours?
According to what is written in their terms and conditions on the "cooling limit" of responsible gaming, in your opinion it is correct that the casino allows the player to revoke the request after 24 hours rather than respecting the end of the 7 days set for the freezing of the account. game?
Hello carsix79,
Unfortunately that's how most of casinos work. You can read about it in our Fair gambling codex as well here:
https://casino.guru/responsible-gambling#account-closure
We always recommend self exclusion if you have any gambling addiction as many casinos simply just reopen your account if you request it while you are on a "Cooling-off" period.
I think you have not understood anything or pretend not to understand even though I have described my case several times and in detail. Always do this with complaints to "friendly" casinos. I shouldn't have even opened this complaint in fact. Like in the last one where in the end I was right and in fact in the end I was reimbursed by the casino. Also close this complaint and continue to promote casinos that do not respect the rules of responsible gambling that you champion.
Hello carsix79,
The complaint will be now rejected as I already explained, and yes I understood what you were asking, that you can cancel cooling off period anytime if you request it. If you are dissatisfied with the result you can contact the licensing authorities anytime as they have much more influence to the casino.
Best regards,
Nick
