Case summary

The US-based player had discovered that his minor cousin had been using his financial details to gamble on Roobet for a year. Despite having reached out to the casino numerous times, he had received no response. The player had explained that his cousin had access to his debit card and had been able to use it undetected due to the player's wealth and multiple bank accounts. However, when the casino had requested the cousin's passport for verification, the cousin's mother had refused, citing security concerns. We had advised the player to report the issue to the police, as it involved underage gambling and a substantial amount of money, and was beyond our capacity to resolve.

Hello there! Please see my email below (in bold) to Roobet support with my explanation of my issue. I’m not sure if anyone has advice on how best to handle or legal action that could help. It seems as if my 12 year old cousin needed almost none of my info (except my PayPal and a crypto account he used my card for) in order to gamble on this site.

Hello there, My name is Benjamin. It has come to my attention that my 12 year old cousin has created an account under this email and has been using my money to GAMBLE on "Roobet" for a year. I’ve confiscated this email and his "Roobet" account and messaged your support team, who sent me here.

I know this is not your policy but this account is completely fraudulent, and worse off by an innocent 12 YEAR OLD. I haven’t caught it until now. Do you allow 12 year olds on here? He’s now going to become a little gambling addict.

I’ve involved my lawyer and expect a swift refund, at the very least. The amount of money tied up in this account is worth me paying lawyer fees to combat this. I’m very disappointed and am hoping we can come to some sort of agreement without legal action.

Clearly this is extremely upsetting to my family and I. Not only did I get absolutely crushed moniteraly, we are worried about my 12 year old cousin who was legally allowed to gamble on here. He will be going away to a mental health centered school in Utah. This has absolutely rocked our family. I need help. This gambling industry is out of control. Please help me get my money back at the very least.

The email he signed up for the account with is the one I’m using now that I’ve confiscated it from him, ri**********bz@gmail.com

Any input and or help would be greatly appreciated! I’m not a gambler and not sure how this works.

Thank you.

Dear rickyjeebz,

Thank you very much for submitting your complaint.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you've encountered with the online casino.

To assist you better, could you please provide more details about the problem you experienced? Specifically:

  • Who owns the email address mentioned earlier, and who is the owner of the payment method used for deposits throughout the entire year?
  • Have you contacted the customer support team of the casino regarding this issue, and if so, what response did you receive?

Your cooperation in providing these details will help us investigate and work towards a resolution. If you have any relevant communication or screenshots, please feel free to forward them to petronela.k@casino.guru for further review.

I hope we will be able to help you resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Best regards,

Yes, I’ve contacted support and was told I would get a reply back in under 24 hours via email. I contacted them 10 times at least. Never heard from them via email and it’s been three days.

The email was created by my cousin, which I’ve now confiscated and am using to dispute.

Money came out of my account and went to a MetaMask which he also created in my name. All he had access to was my debit card and using that he was able to do all of this.

I will email with more proof.

Hi rickyjeebz,

I acknowledge that you initially contacted the casino on February 16th, 2024, to address the issue.

  • Could you please clarify for how long the casino account was open and how it went unnoticed that over $44K had been withdrawn from your account and misused by your cousin?

Thank you.

Hi there,

I am quite wealthy and have three banks. My cousin had access to my card which he took a picture of. I rarely use that bank and to be honest, the transactions are small enough that I did not notice.

Thank you and hope to get this resolved soon as Roobet support is no help whatsoever. They are asking for my cousins passport which his mother does not want to give to a criminal offshore gambling website as she is not sure what type of people they are affiliated with.

thanks.

Hi rickyjeebz,

I acknowledge your efforts to seek assistance, but it's crucial to recognize that matters of this nature should be addressed by official authorities rather than our Complaints Resolution Center. My suggestion would be to reach out to the police rather than Casino.Guru, as we lack the resources to investigate criminal cases.

Regrettably, I am unable to offer further assistance in this complex case involving an underage individual and a substantial amount of money. It is imperative that such matters be handled by the appropriate official authorities.

Thank you for your understanding.
