No, you're misunderstanding it, only a portion is deducted and the money is in the bank and cannot be withdrawn. It's exactly the same as with the proceedings against Mr Green and so on...

In principle it doesn't matter whether the trip is postponed in Malta, we are all waiting for the EU court now.

As soon as they make a ruling then things will move forward in Malta. Until then they can do whatever they want.

With "Bill 55", Malta has passed a law according to which judgments from other EU states, including Germany and Austria, which require online casinos from Malta to repay illegal gambling losses, cannot be enforced in Malta. Now the matter is gaining momentum:

The "Bill 55" has now landed in the ECJ (C-683/24) as part of a preliminary ruling procedure - a ruling is expected in about a year. The ECJ will examine whether this law is compatible with the values of the EU and EU law.
