Just catching up on the recent activity, I would certainly go back and complain and show them the two FOS decisions I listed a while back. It isn’t gambling transactions as these merchants that are on the statements are listed as different providers of services from digital art, schools, software etc.
The one decision was against NatWest not sure if that’s who you bank with but certainly worth showing them that as they may reconsider. Irrelevant who you do bank with as they all sign up to the same regulations etc, but worrying if it is NatWest considering FOS backing the consumer, you would think they would have learnt the lesson.
Considering the recent changes to consumer duty and finance companies being hammered for not looking after customers it’s is shocking they continue to operate like this.
Thanks mate, I bank with Starling and they are fully against crypto transactions and I mentioned that these are crypto merchants and they’ve just completely ignored it. I’ve raised a complaint and mentioned those two FOS complaints. Will see what they have to say to that
I think the ombudsman is making these banks actually do something, thing is chargeback and then if we lose the chargeback because they formulate some lies that we did get goods/ services then we have to take that on the chin despite us knowing it’s fraud.
But to not even chargeback is a joke and that’s what the ombudsman has effectively said on these decisions, the good thing is if they don’t do the chargeback and ombudsman says you should have then the banks are being forced to pay out of their own pocket that should soon make them change their actions.
Good luck mate, if I am successful with Chase then I don’t mind you using my case as an example to send to Starling.
Waiting on credit cards as well so again if you want to share the case numbers to Starling if I am successful then I don’t mind. These would be Visa credit card and Mastercard debit so the disputes would be their references anyway
