Case summary

The player from Germany had deposited €100 in Vave Casino, activated a bonus, and won €1400 in total. After he attempted to withdraw his winnings, the casino confiscated all his winnings due to a breach of their maximum bet rule with an active bonus. The player disputed this, stating the breach had no impact on the bonus and the confiscated winnings included earnings from unrelated sports bets. We had informed the player about the industry standard regarding the max bet rule and asked him to provide game history and any relevant communication with the casino. However, the player did not respond within the given timeframe, thus we were unable to investigate further and had to reject the complaint.

Hello everyone,

Today, I'd like to share my experience with the cryptocurrency casino and sports betting exchange, known as "Vave Casino".

I made a deposit of approximately €100 and activated a "50 Free Spins" bonus. I used the deposit amount to place sports bets and to play roulette in the casino. After winning approximately €600 through sports betting and around €800 in the casino, I tried to withdraw my winnings. However, all my winnings from both categories were completely confiscated, leaving only the €100 that I had initially deposited, with which I had activated the bonus. Prior to this, I had made two deposits of €200 each. Of course, this amount was not refunded either.

The response I got from Vave Casino was as follows:

"Dear Player,

We noticed that you have breached our maximum allowed bet with an active bonus rule while enjoying the "50 Free Spins".

Be kindly informed that according to our Terms and Conditions:

"While you have an active bonus, the maximum bet for all game types (slots, live games, table games, scratch, action games) is 5 EUR / 5 USD / 50 NOK / 6.5 CAD / 6.5 NZD / 20 PLN (Unless stated otherwise in special terms for the bonus). Purchasing any game features (including, but not limited to, ’respin’) will add to your total bet amount. If a player exceeds the maximum bet while the bonus is active, the casino reserves the right to confiscate the winnings."

Therefore, we have decided to confiscate your winnings. You are left with the initial deposit from which you activated the bonus.

Please keep in mind that you had accepted our Terms and Conditions upon registration. To fully familiarize yourself with them, follow this link:

Please let us know if you wish to receive your betting history to investigate the matter yourself.

Best regards,

Casino Support Team"

Why am I sharing this? One might say that I should have read the fine print and thereby agreed to the conditions. That is true to an extent. However, this does not change the fact that dealing with this situation led me to a clear conclusion: The casino uses bonus regulations deliberately to pocket potential winnings from customers based on completely irrelevant bonuses in their terms and conditions.

Specifically, my casino bets worth 5€ (contrary to the terms and conditions) had absolutely no impact on the provided "50 Free Spins" bonus, i.e., the status in my account didn’t change at all after each game, giving the impression that the bonus was not affected whatsoever.

What I find most critical is not just that the winnings from the casino games got confiscated but also from the sports bets, which have nothing to do with the "Free Spins Bonus". To me, this is absolute fraud! The casino is exploiting their house rules to the maximum disadvantage of the customers.

Therefore, I urge everyone to be wary of the bonus conditions at Vave Casino!

Please be cautious before entrusting your money to this casino. When in doubt, their decision on payouts will be interpreted in a way that maximizes the burden on you.

Best regards,

Ede

Dear edu81ard,

Thank you very much for submitting your complaint. I’m sorry to hear about your negative experience.

Our position to maximum bet is closely explained in Fair Gambling Codex https://casino.guru/fair-gambling-codex-for-casinos#max-bets: The max bet rule is, in fact, an industry standard, just as the fact that a casino has the right to seize the player's winnings from bonus play after breaking this rule. We prefer not to go against industry standards by penalizing casinos that use the maximum bet rule against players from time to time.

However, if you feel like you have been accused mistakenly, feel free to forward me your game history together with a link to the specific bonus that you redeemed and played. My email address is veronika.l@casino.guru

If there is any other relevant communication between you and the casino, please send it as well.

Moreover, I have to inform you that our forum Casino.Guru deals with complaints regarding online casinos only. I understand it must be difficult for you, but unfortunately, we don’t have enough insight to take on issues related to sports betting.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Best regards,

Veronika
