Take the Shot is a slot machine by Betsoft Gaming. According to the number of players searching for it, Take the Shot is not a very popular slot. Still, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's bad, so give it a try and see for yourself, or browse popular casino games.
To play for free in demo mode, just load the game and press the 'Spin' button. You can learn more about slot machines and how they work in our online slots guide.
The Take The Shot slot is themed around basketball, one of America’s most popular sports. The slot takes you courtside to watch the action (and maybe even get in on it).
The background shows the basketball court and the cheering crowds, while the reels are home to strategy notes, energy drinks, and of course, the players.
This slot will appeal to sports fans, particularly those who enjoy following the NBA and college basketball.
The graphics for Take The Shot are fun and bright. They engage the eye with bright colors and simple but effective animations.
The background is brought to life by moving spotlights, and the reels do the same with small win and spin animations. The win animations are the same for the basic symbols, but the player does get a couple of unique animations for some visual variety.
The music is a bit repetitive but works pretty well to set the mood and the sound effects feel like they were lifted from the graphics team behind a real sportscast.
Overall, this slot has an attractive front end that does a good job selling the slot to players.
Take The Shot is a progression slot with 5 reels, 4 rows, and 75 win lines.
The first thing you notice about Take The Shot is that every time you spin the reels, any space where a Player symbol landed, leaves behind a basketball hoop that stays in place in the background for subsequent spins. Players will also notice a small counter in the bottom right decreases by one after every spin.
This is part of the game’s progression system.
The counter starts at 10 and when it hits zero every spot with a basketball hoop on it, is transformed into a Wild symbol for the next spin. Then the hoops and the counter reset to zero.
The documentation of Take The Shot does not specify the maximum win.
The Wild symbols only appear as part of the progression system. When they do, they substitute for all normal symbols, excluding the Scatter.
Landing three Scatters anywhere on the reels triggers the Free Spin Bonus. The Free Spin Bonus starts with 15 free spins.
At the start of the Free Spin Bonus, the player receives 5, 7, or 10 Wild symbols. These symbols stay on the reels for every spin, like players on the court. And just like players they move around, changing location after every spin.
This twist makes the bonus a lot more fun and works perfectly with the theme of the Take The Shot slot.
The return to player (RTP) of Take The Shot is 95.14%. We use a yardstick of roughly 96% for an industry average, so this is very low. Low RTP is one of the strongest disincentives for playing a slot. So this counts heavily against a recommendation for Take The Slot.
The range of bets on the site we tested ran from a minimum bet per spin of $/£/€0.20 up to a maximum of $/£/€260 per spin.
Take The Shot is a medium volatility slot.
Our slot strategies target the highest possible volatility and RTP. The fact that Take The Shot’s RTP is so low and the volatility so middling, we wouldn’t recommend you play this game for strategic reasons.
Take The Shot is a great-looking slot that will appeal to any basketball fans who want to bring their sports hobby into their slots hobby.
We also love the countdown gimmick and the solid design.
However, the low RTP is a serious problem for this otherwise interesting slot. The low volatility isn’t great either and so we wouldn’t recommend this slot to strategically minded players.
If you just want to enjoy some light basketball- themed fun though, this might be the slot for you.
