Tai the Toad is a frog and Asian-themed online slot from the creative minds at Hacksaw Gaming. The titular toad is some sort of mystical creature that is worshipped by an unseen public.

Graphics, Sounds and Animations

Hacksaw Gaming does not have a huge number of Asian-themed slots in its catalog, but it is no surprise to see they have done a great job in designing one with Tai the Toad. The reels are situated inside some sort of temple, with red banners flying everywhere, and two giant toad statues standing on either side of the game grid.

It is a much more subdued design than what we have seen in titles like Twisted Lab or Chaos Crew 2, but it is an excellent example of the kind of diversity the studio is capable of producing.

Gameplay

Tai the Toad has a simple base game. The slot uses a 5x5 game grid with 19 paylines. Winning combinations are landed when players hit three or more matching symbols.

Gold Coin symbols are cash prizes. These are all added together and multiplied by your current bet to produce your win. Gold Coins can be valued between 1x - 1,000x. When revealing a Gold Coin, the Toad symbol may reveal a Coin Bag instead. These display a value between x2 - x5, which is then applied to between 1-5 Gold Coin symbols.

The Toad Free Spins are launched when you land three Scatter Symbols. This will reward 10 spins. In the round, Land Dragon and Double Dragon Scatter symbols will land and will collect Toad Points. Double Dragon symbols add up to 5 points to all reels.

If the Prosperity Pot Symbol lands, it will add an equal number of Toad Symbols to random positions on corresponding reels. Toad Points will then reset.

If you fill the Toad Points meter above all reels at the same time, it will reward 10 additional spins. Landing three extra symbols trigger four additional spins while hitting four Scatter symbols upgrades the bonus to the Golden Toad Bonus.

The Golden Toad Bonus launches when you land four Scatters. This triggers 10 spins. The difference from the standard Toad Spins is that the Toad Points do not reset after the Prosperity Pot activates.

Players can skip the queue and buy their way into the bonus rounds using the Bonus Buy feature.
