Theme and Storyline

Ring of Odin is a Norse mythology based slot, with a fun twist based around Draupnir. Draupnir was a ring, gifted to Odin by a pair of dwarves. Every ninth night, Draupnir would create eight gold rings of the same size and weight as the original.

As the Vikings had not heard of inflation, this was a truly great gift.

With symbols that include the eight legged horse Sleipnir, Fenrir the wolf, and various runes as well as Odin the all-father himself, the theme is well explored and presented from an interesting way that is integrated with the gameplay.

Graphics, Sounds and Animations

The graphics are beautiful on this slot. Lovely artwork for each of the symbols is supported with a rich and detailed background painting and stone frame in which the reels are set, guarded on both sides by statues of axe-wielding dwarves.

The animations that accompany the visuals are neat and clean and each symbol has a unique animation when part of a win.

The music is a little plinky-plonky for a Viking themed slot, but isn’t too annoying, and the win and spin sounds add a lot to the atmosphere, so it is worth leaving the sound on.

Gameplay

Its main feature is the Odin’s Ring bonus, which is described below and adds a number of interesting twists to the gameplay.

Wilds, Bonuses and Free Spins

The Wild symbol substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter symbol.

The Odin’s Ring bonus can land on any random spin. When it does, a symbol is selected at random. For each of those symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4, the player receives one Draupnir respin. Reels 2, 3 and 4 change so that all nine spots are changed to the selected symbol and the other two reels are spun during the respins.

If a Scatter lands inside Odin’s Ring (i.e. on reels 2 to 4) then the player gets four Multiplier Free spins. These come with additional multipliers on the reel and Odin’s ring active for every spin.

Three or more Scatters on a single Spin will trigger a more typical free spin bonus with four Free Spins. Each Scatter that lands adds an additional free spin and Odin’s Ring is active for all Free Spins.
