Sorry to hijack this thread but what about offshore, non-gambling commissioned regulated betting merchants who don't hide the fact they are gambling sites. Playhub Casino (who I have lost a considerable amount of money to) have their VISA Debit payments processed under PYD Processing which has the merchant code 7995. So they aren't hiding the fact they are a gambling merchant despite not being regulated by UKGC and that those transactions are illegal.
Does that help me much with a potential chargeback attempt? And am I right in thinking it's ultimately VISA themselves who make this decision on whether I'm due any kind of refund and they themselves shouldn't have allowed Playhub Casino to take UK Debit card payments in this way?
Usoftgaming - 7995 is the universal code a legitimate gambling business should use. Your only argument is that they accepted you as a UK player when they are not licenced to do so - you would have to check their T&Cs and their actual gambling licence(probably GCB or Curacao E-Gaming). If you had used a credit card then you might have a Section 75 case but it could be tricky when it comes to debit cards. Also, Usoftgaming allegedly will challenge all and any chargebacks against them. Think there was something on a processor they used called Pulsion Processing on another site - they challenged all the chargebacks in that particular case.
Ok I get that with these dodgy foreign providers but this is an FSA accredited Uk provider bud its odd not sure if it is related but I complained to the FCA earlier
They tried disputing mine too, I asked them to provide the bank with GDPR and I sent the bank a little bits of evidence to prove I didn’t have any service from them. I bet they said you purchased nft art? Ask the bank to provide you with the address/ wallet they sent it to and ask the date of birth, any details they should have if you signed up to their website to make a purchase ect
Thank you for the really detailed reply on Playhub. If they do contest the chargeback, is it not up to Visa to refund without much of a fight on the grounds they took the payments illegally? Like Visa would be endorsing these payments effectively if they didn't do that and that's against the law?
