Case summary

1 month ago

The player from the United Kingdom had been using multiple bank accounts not in his name for deposits and withdrawals for over a year without issues. The casino had then voided all winnings and deposits and closed the account, citing a breach of terms and conditions. The player questioned the sudden enforcement of this rule and sought a refund of the voided deposits. The complaint was rejected due to the player's lack of response to the inquiries, which prevented further investigation into the matter.

I have been depositing and withdrawing from multiple bank accounts that haven’t been in my name for over 12 months now and never had a problem until now. They are saying that their final decision is all winnings and deposits are void and my account is staying locked. I have bank statements proving that all previous transactions were made using debit cards not in my name so how can it all of a sudden be against there terms and conditions. Also the manager I finally spoke to was rude and obnoxious . Further more if said deposits are void shouldn’t I be entitled to have them refunded ?

Dear Theyoweme280quid,

Thank you very much for submitting your complaint. I’m sorry to hear about your problem. I have checked the Terms and Conditions, and this is what I found:

5.8. By registering for an Account, you promise to us that:
in connection with your Account, you will only use funds and payment methods that are valid and lawfully belong to you;
10.6. You must only deposit money through a payment method which is in your name, and you may not deposit money from a business account or source.

Furthermore, please check our Fair Gambling Codex for Players

"For deposits and withdrawals, you should only use bank accounts and credit cards held in your own name. If you don't do this, you might get into trouble when trying to make a withdrawal. This rule is mostly in place to prevent credit card misuse and also because of international anti-money-laundering regulations."

Please understand that this rule has been breached. Some exceptions might be allowed by casinos when depositing or withdrawing funds using a joint card or this possibility is communicated beforehand. Technically it is very difficult to check who’s the owner of the payment method at the depositing stage. This can be checked only during the account verification, which is usually done when a withdrawal is requested. Therefore, it is a player’s responsibility to use allowed payment methods only.

If you’re not able to prove that you are a legitimate owner of the payment method and you haven’t received approval from the casino allowing you to use a third-party payment method, I’m afraid there’s not much we can do for you.

Thank you very much in advance for your reply and understanding.

Best regards,

Veronika
