The Monkey King Rush slot is set deep in the heart of some Asian mountains, with a training temple sitting in the background while Chinese lanterns sway in the wind. The slot is reminiscent of other Asian-themed Pragmatic Play offerings, such as Year of the Dragon King.
However, it has been injected with some personality thanks to the presence of the titular Monkey King. He stands to the right of the reels while you spin the reels, occasionally bursting to life in some animated sequences.
The soundtrack is as expected from a Chinese-themed title, creating a calming atmosphere with a more playful riff.
Monkey King Rush is a cluster-pay slot that takes place on an enhanced 7x7 game grid. Winning clusters are formed of five or more symbols connected horizontally or vertically anywhere on the grid.
The control panel is beneath the reels, with players able to adjust the sound settings, access the paytable, and launch the autoplay feature.
Like many cluster-pay slots, Monkey King Rush uses a Tumble Feature. Whenever players land a winning cluster, the symbols are removed from the grid and new ones fall into their place. This continues until no new winning clusters are formed.
Whenever a winning symbol explodes, it leaves a mark on the grid. The second time a symbol explodes in the spot, it leaves a multiplier. This starts at x2 and doubles every time a new win is formed on the spot. The maximum it can reach is x128.
In the base game, marked spots are reset at the end of a Tumble sequence.
