Theme and Storyline

Juicy Reels takes the typical fruit machine concept and extends it. Literally.

Where many fruit machine style games will adopt a single win line, three reel format to emulate the one armed bandits of the classic Vegas era, Juicy Reels goes the other way, adding reels and win lines at an alarming rate.

There are six reels, twenty win lines, and – as with many Wazdan products – even options for adjusting the volatility of the game.

Graphics, Sounds and Animations

The graphics are also a little fancier than more minimalist versions of the fruit machine. The symbols are all drawn with a little extra flare and the background is a psychedelic rainbow of moving colours.

The animations are all pretty slick and the sound effects work. Though the background music is a rather bland bit of pseudo-80s synth-pop, as if written for the sound system in an office elevator.

It’s by no means badly designed visually, but it is also deeply generic and not very exciting.

Gameplay

Juicy Reels is a six reel slot with twenty winlines and not a huge amount else to distinguish it from the myriad of other slot machines out there.

It has a pretty perfunctory gamble feature, which allows the standard double-or-nothing choice which has been visually revamped but is otherwise the same as any other slot.

The bonuses and special symbols are also pretty bog standard. In fact, the whole vibe for this slot machine seems to be a case of making all the most standard, middle of the road choices possible.

Wilds, Bonuses and Free Spins

There is a Wild symbol which plays as any other symbol except for the Scatters and is also the highest paying single line symbol if you manage to land three or more left to right on a win line.

The Scatter also pays out reasonably well, but the real reason to land the Scatters is the Free Spins which range from 15 spins for three symbols up to 30 for six. During the Free Spins winnings are multiplied by three.

Conclusion

All in all this game does little to win over its players. Pretty much everything about it is average. Not bad, but not great.

The only thing that made us sit up and pay attention was the adjustable volatility, but you can find that feature on any of the better designed games from Wazdan's game collection.

Overall, we would not recommend this one.
