I have some waiting chargebacks for Grottobook on Revolut. Should know this week if they have replied or not in the first step.
Hi.
So, I tried to chargeback with Ocean credit card (capital one) who declined the chargeback then advised me to go down the fraud route, then declined this and I have not lost use of the credit card. I also had a capital one card which was separate to this, and I have not lost that one too. This card was not under investigation. Have any of you heard back from the Ombudsman?

Golden rule - never use a credit card on these sites, ever. If you tell the credit card provider it is gambling then they can easily say you breached T&C's on the card and cancel it(with the debt still owing). This is despite the 7995 code not being used(because if it was then it would be automatically blocked).
Don't use a debit card either tbf - what these sites are doing is illegal transaction masking which is absolutely against the law of the UK and a breach of Mastercard/Visa Merchant T&C's. Legitimate sites caught doing this can be fined up to 10000 Euros per transaction. You need to raise chargebacks, Action Fraud cases, contact each merchant that appears...everything you can and then take it from there. Go to the Ombudsman - hound the casino operator, message the gaming providers. Build a case - the perpetrators have no way of questioning any chargeback because they are ultimately breaking the law and if they do question it they will be showing this in writing!
I’m a little confused. So what do you say to the credit card provider? You’re saying don’t send the script that has been posted previously, I.e incorrect merchant codes etc.
From what I can gather on here people have been successful with credit card chargebacks using this procedure?
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried contacting the merchants but have had no response.
I am now locked out of my credit card app so can't get any details from my statements.
Will the ombudsman help with a case like this?

No, I am not saying anything opposite to that at all. Just a warning not to ever use credit cards for this type of stuff as it is a direct breach of T&Cs and can mean an immediate closure of the credit card facility.
The templates are fine - but a simple email to each merchant chasing and showing they won't respond and building a case is key.
Ok, gotcha!
I thought you were implying going straight down the ‘goods not received’ route which would be difficult since a lot of the time you wouldn’t even be able to confirm what the goods you ordered were based on the descriptors on statements.
That was my intention, should I mention the incorrect MCC in this email or simply highlight transaction amount, date etc and ask what goods/services we’re provided?
Don't mention anything that you don't have to. Question what the goods are and insist on a receipt. That is all that is needed.
Dear sirs,
On Xth of XXXXXXX a transaction was taken from my bank account/card of XXX. The merchant listed on the transaction is you.
Please provide details of the goods purchased and provide a sales receipt for the transaction.
Thanks,
XXX
Keep it simple
What if my account with the bank is closed, they closed it because of to much transactions and they said they are only for day to day transactions.
Now i told them, i want to do some disputes on transactions, but they say they cant help me, since i am not a customer anymore, they can not do any disputes / chargebacks for me.
Anything i can do ?
