How do you find the contact details? Google doesn’t seem to have most of these companies, I am looking for Balon tech, Newton OS and ZPDG

How did you approach your emails to NIKOTPF? if you don't mind to provide some guidance.

It is really hard to track some of these merchants down.

I disputed the transactions with my CC company but they were rejected for charge back and section 75 (whatever It is).

We.have no support and these merchants just get away with it.

Who is the CC with? I had success on a debit card with chase mastercard. Just trying barclaycard now who work with Visa there are two FOS ombudsman decisions which support us where banks refused chargebacks then they were overturned search Google or alternatively I can provide the information

I’m with Santander (Mastercard), who advised today that since I made those transactions there’s nothing they can do.

Ive contacted the merchants in question as well and await responses.

Could you provide some guidance?

Not had any direct dealings with Santander but Chase bank card is a debit Mastercard.

I called up Chase as I was advised to do so and informed then that although I made payments to these gambling sites they have used the incorrect codes to bypass the gambling block, they initially said Mastercard don’t deal with gambling chargeback but after a while of me insisting these are not gambling transactions they eventually processed it under goods/services not provided and incorrect data used.

If your Santander card is a credit card payments gambling payments should not be allowed to be taken, I would call them back advise that the companies on your statement have not provided the goods and services, be honest and say you approved gambling transactions but these companies are not a gambling company. Find out what services they were meant to offer via the bank and then insist on them charging back. Search this in Google DRN-4400536, have a look around what the ombudsman says around incorrect codes this should be the basis of the argument as credit cards should block gambling transactions but won’t when incorrect codes used therefore chargeback has a very good chance of success.

There was a link provided by another user which is a great template - giving credit to them this isn’t mine. You need to reiterate that there is a gambling block on ALL Credit cards due to UK law.

I am writing to formally request a chargeback for recent transactions processed on my account. The details of the transaction are as follows.

Date of Transaction: [Date of Transaction] Amount: [Transaction Amount] Merchant Name: [Merchant Name]

As someone struggling with gambling addiction, EDIT ACCORDINGLY: I had placed a gambling block on my account several years ago to prevent any gambling-related transactions.

Unfortunately, I recently relapsed and deposited funds to an online casino. Despite the gambling block in place, the casino employed a fraudulent merchant to disguise the true nature of the transaction, thereby bypassing the block by using an incorrect Merchant Category Code (MCC).

This practice, known as "transaction laundering," is in direct violation of Mastercard regulations and qualifies the transaction for a chargeback. The casino's intentional use of a fraudulent merchant to circumvent the gambling block is a clear breach of Mastercard rules. If the MCC had been correctly set, the transaction would not have been authorized.

I took the proactive step of setting up restrictive measures to avoid gambling, but the purposeful and illegal practice of transaction laundering exploited a vulnerability in the system, facilitating this transaction despite the block.

Although I authorized the transaction, I did not receive any goods or services from this merchant. The funds were directed to the online casino, which used this merchant to bypass the gambling restrictions on my account. The expected delivery date for any goods or services, if applicable, would be the same as the transaction date. However, since no goods or services were provided by the merchant, I am requesting a chargeback.

In light of these circumstances, I kindly request that you process a chargeback for the full amount of the transaction. I appreciate your understanding and prompt attention to this matter.

Thank you for your assistance.

Appreciate the informative reply.

my card is a debit and not CC, with no gambling block, although I am blocked via GAMSTOP.

so not sure that will work for me 🙁

I am not sure either, potentially just go down the route of incorrect codes used to bypass the system/illegal for a betting company to operate in the UK without a UKGC licence, if they were a regulated company then gamstop would have worked and challenge them on no goods or services provided by these third party companies. The point to make I think is show me evidence I have received the goods/services from X company that claims to be a software company/education services (amend to suit). Some of the ones on my statement have been digital art, schools and computer software.

It appears if challenged correctly the FOS will back the consumer.

In these screenshots you can see my attempt to recover the money together with the Revolut bank. It seems that these merchants / Expressiveera and ArtaiBuy managed to obtain evidence that they sent me the goods related to the transaction, I don't understand how. I'm showing you this just to make you realize how advanced they are in this scheme.

For what goods and services were they? Do you have a gambling block in place with revolut? If so check out that template email around merchant codes and bypassing them may be worth a go?

The issue we all have is you’re fighting it on two fronts seems the banks are reluctant to help despite Visa and Mastercard saying chargeback applies as they are incorrect codes being used and it comes under 12.7 VISA terms.
