I would like to say that this casino earned a questionable reputation. It may not be safe.
Every decent casino should operate under a license. I'd say it's a standard for a good casino, however, it does not mean that this particular casino treats players fairly and has fair and clear T&C even if it operates under the license. Don't you agree? 🙂
So of course there are some black sheep among the Curacao providers, but so far I've always had good experiences there. There are decent bonuses, good support and at least here in Germany there is usually no tax charged for each spin.
This looks very different with some MGA providers. Some charge taxes and reduce the RTP at the same time. And then write that this is the only way they can offer the best gaming experience.
If you want to obey the new German gambling law, then lowering the RTP is the only way to go. The casinos usually made 4% from every spin (in average). Then your government said they need to pay over 5% tax from every spin so they'd lose money on every single spin if they didn't lower the RTP.
What casinos did makes perfect sense, but what the government did doesn't make any sense. They took the money/winnings that would otherwise go to the player in the name of "player's protection".
Trust me, the operators on German market are very concerned about this, because we're getting to the point where a player can choose between playing in a licensed casino and will less or play in a casino that operates illegally on the German market, but win more. Tough choice for the German players.
Yes that is problematic. But with the tax and the 5 second rule. Is it really almost impossible to win anything?
Most of the players I know only play in unregulated casinos. Just because of the rules.
But the worst thing is that the regulated casinos ask for everything, and that puts many people off.
Yes, I also believe that most of German players will play in casinos that aren't licensed in Germany. Who would voluntarily lose more if you can lose less? 😀
