From the punning title to the tedious bonuses, this slot is about as welcome as a cash bar at a wedding.
Read full reviewRock the Cash Bar has a theme built entirely around a pun. Playing on the title of the song by The Clash, Rock the Casbah, the slot has combined the idea of a disco club (where rock might be played) and a cash bar, where one might buy drinks.
The symbols are bottles and the kind of fruit one might garnish an overpriced cocktail with. Meanwhile, the background is made up of glitter balls, flashing dance floor squares, and signs for the club’s VIP room.
It’s pretty bold to build your slot on such a flimsy premise. But in this case, it kind of works.
The background music is a cheerful generic rock clip, though not The Clash namesake Rock the Casbah. The spins and wins prompt chimes that definitely have a gameshow vibe. This effect is underlined by the cheering-crowd sounds, though this was likely meant to indicate a concert audience.
The fruit and booze symbols have a somewhat clipart-look. However, they do deliver a classic slot aesthetic for those looking for the feeling of their old favourite one-armed bandit.
Overall, this game provides the atmosphere of a party from decades past, but if you’re in the mood for some nostalgia, it’s just the ticket.
Rock the Cash Bar is a five reel slot with three rows.
This slot uses an "any way wins" system. This means winning combinations are made up of matching symbols that appear anywhere on consecutive reels starting from the leftmost reel. This makes for 243 ways to win.
The gameplay is pretty typical of this sort of slot. Though the bonuses add a little variety.
The Wild symbol substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter symbols and Ticket symbols. However, they do not feature on the regular reels. Wilds only appear when the Wild Night Out feature is randomly triggered. When this happens, up to seven Wilds are added to the reel.
The Free Spin bonuses are triggered whenever a player lands both a Scatter symbol and a Ticket symbol on the same spin.
There are several levels for the free spins. The higher the level, the better the multipliers for the wins.
The return to player of this game is 96.10%, pretty close to our yardstick for average of roughly 96%.
The range of bets on the site we tested ran from a minimum bet per spin of $/£/€0.10 up to a maximum of $/£/€500.00 per spin.
The volatility of this game is low, which makes it a very poor match for our preferred slot machine strategies. Our slot strategies target the highest possible volatility.
Unusually for Yggdrasil Gaming slots, this one is a bit of a visual mess. The symbols are cheap looking, the animations basic, and the music tedious.
The low volatility doesn’t help the slot, and the RTP is too average to sway our opinion on the rest of it.
Best leave this slot alone and hit up a real bar instead.
