Olé! Do you have what it takes to battle the raging bull and come out victorious? El Torero Raging Bull by Merkur Gaming is a fun game, complete with Wild symbols and Free Spins – but does it deliver all the thrills of a bullfight?
The graphics are quite simple: there's a stadium filled with spectators in the background, and the main color of the game is red, just like in a real bullfight. Visually, it's an older-looking slot, similar to other games by the provider. This would have been a great opportunity for some Spanish-inspired tunes, but, as usual, Merkur largely sticks with mechanical slot machine noises.
The gameplay is about as straightforward as can be. El Torero Raging Bull is played on a grid of five reels and three rows, and to trigger a win, you need to land matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right, on one of 10 paylines.
High-paying symbols include the guitar, rose, and, of course the bull and matador icons. You'll also get payouts for landing A, K, Q, J, and 10 symbols, but they're smaller.
The matador symbol is the Wild, and it can substitute for all other symbols except the bull, to help create winning combinations.
The bull symbol only appears on reels 1, 3, and 5, but if you enable the Scatter Rush feature, it can appear on any of the reels. You'll need at least three bull symbols to get into the Free Spins round, where you'll bag eight free games. During Free Spins, any Wild symbols that land are sticky for the entire round. Multipliers can also be added to random Sticky Wilds when wins land.
You can use the options at the bottom of the screen to set your stake for amounts between $/€/£0.10 and $/€/£20 per spin, but you can't adjust the number of paylines. You'll be able to win up to a maximum of 5,000x your stake.
The Return to Player (RTP) percentage of El Torero Raging Bull is between 96.10% and 96.18%, according to Gamomat. Both of these figures are above the average for slot games, which sits at 96%.
El Torero Raging Bull looks a bit basic at first, but it's actually quite an exciting game, and we were happy with the above-average RTP. The standout feature for us was the Free Spins round, because with Sticky Wild and Multipliers, there's a lot of potential for wins here. The theme might not be everyone's cup of tea, and if you're in the market for great graphics and immersive animations, this may not be your ideal game, but we had a great experience when testing the game, and we'd recommend trying it for yourself.
