17 Feb 2026Prepare to be whisked off to a medieval world in the engrossing slot, Tizona.
Known as an ancient sword that belonged to the legendary Spanish knight El Cid, Tizona, developed by Merkur Gaming, allows players to join forces with Castilian knights in a fight against the enemy for amazing treasures.
This adventure-style game bears some resemblance to Knight's Life, and it packs a punch!
Tizona features a cinematic-style soundtrack that is exciting, yet not overpowering.
Special sound effects are used throughout when players score wins, and the music enhances the tension.
Merkur Gaming has spared no expense with the quality of the graphics, where the knight, horses, and shields are given plenty of prominence.
In the background, a faint outline of a castle set against dark skies paints the scene.
Overall, the graphics and soundtrack sync up nicely in Tizona.
Tizona is a 5-reel, 3-row game with 10 fixed paylines.
Wins are paid out by landing matching symbols from left to right; however, with some symbols, you need 2 for high paying symbols, but at least 3 for low paying symbols.
The higher-paying symbols can offer a return of up to 300ˣ your bet when you match 5 on a payline.
The sword represents the Wild in Tizona, substituting for all other symbols except for the shield. At the beginning of each spin, every sword moves one position to the left. Wild symbols don't have a value in this game.
Look out for the shield symbols, as they can appear anywhere on the reels. Acting as Scatters, shields can pave the way for free spins. When 3, 4, or 5 Scatters hit, players can receive 10, 15, or 20 free spins respectively.
During the bonus round, shields can be collected to upgrade Wild symbols, offering the following benefits:
Each spin where Wilds shift to the left will see an additional free spin granted. Retriggers are also possible by landing at least 3 Scatters simultaneously during the bonus round.
Tizona serves up a maximum win of 3,000ˣ your wager.
Tizona carries a Return to Player (RTP) of 95.95%, which falls just below the 96% industry yardstick. On average, low RTP games tend to be less attractive as they return less over time.
The range of bets tested for this game ran from a minimum of $/£/€0.10 a spin through to $/£/€20 a spin, making it a good choice for beginners.
This title is classified as highly volatile, making it a perfect match for our desired slot machine strategies. Highly volatile games are attractive as you can win bigger amounts, even if not so frequently.
We recommend giving this medieval-themed, highly volatile slot a go..
Although Tizona has a below-average RTP (95.95%), don't let that deter you, as there is a chance to scoop some decent wins.
The graphics are sharp, and if you enjoyed Knight's Life, Tizona should grab your attention.
