You're sure to have played Asian-themed slot games featuring fiery dragons, but the characters here are a lot less menacing. In fact, the baby dragons are downright cute. The game is set inside the dragon's lair, where you'll watch the Dragon Queen preside over her precious clutch of eggs. The animations are simple – the dragon is the only thing that moves in the background.
The music is tranquil enough not to wake the sleeping dragon, and if you listen closely, you'll even hear her snoring softly.
Dragon Hatch doesn't have paylines, so you'll just need to land at least four of the same symbols touching horizontally or vertically anywhere on the grid to trigger a win. The more matching symbols, the more money you'll bag.
The highest-paying symbols are the dragon's eye and the baby dragons, while the suits from a deck of cards award smaller wins. After each spin, wins are paid out and all winning symbols explode, giving you an extra chance to win.
Just like other PG Soft games, Dragon Hatch has been made for mobile gameplay, so it works best on your phone. You can still play on desktop, but the game grid is a little smaller than other slots.
The Wild symbol is a golden dragon egg, and it can appear anywhere on the grid. Wilds substitute for all other symbols.
Dragon Hatch comes with one very unique feature, called the Collection Bar. Winning symbols that explode will be accumulated into the bar at the top of the screen, to trigger one of four special features on a spin with no winning combinations.
During any spin, if there are more than 10 winning symbols, the Earth Dragon feature is triggered on a spin with no wins. During the Earth Dragon feature, low-value symbols are removed from the grid.
The Water Dragon feature triggers if there are more than 30 winning symbols, and it comes with four Wilds added to the grid. Fire Dragon triggers with 50 or more winning symbols, and a randomly chosen symbol is added to the grid in a checkered pattern.
If 70 or more winning symbols are collected during one round, the Dragon Queen feature is triggered, turning low-value symbols into high-value symbols or Wilds.
You can use the options below the game grid to set your stake amount, with the minimum bet amount set at $/€/£0.30 and the maximum at $/€/£90. The most you can win is 15,000x your stake if the symbols align in your favor.
The Return to Player (RTP) percentage of Dragon Hatch is 96.83%, which is comfortably above the industry standard of 96%. The game's volatility is medium, which tends to make it slightly less exciting than some other games, as wins aren't usually particularly large.
If you like the sound of a dragon-themed slot, but you're not really into anything too adventurous or scary, Dragon Hatch is a great option. The four special bonus rounds really make this game stand out, as they offer a great chance for you to bag extra wins. With an impressive maximum win of 15,000x your stake and an above-average RTP of 96.83%, we're certain you'll enjoy this game.
