Non game stop companies

Hi I believe these new non gamestop companies should be banned. They offer no protection for problem players and I believe some of them to be a scam. They have found a way to let people gamble who shouldn't be gambling. They abide by no laws and you are not protected. If they don't want to pay winnings they simply don't.

I feel gambling is a serious problem and these sites shouldn't be available.

Hi. Unfortunately, right now, there is no such thing asn Gamstop where you can put restrictions on playing for problematic players all over the world. These casinos do not have a UK license and should be avoided by players from your country. I know that it is not easy to not play at these casinos if there is no protection for you to not enter them, but on the other hand, I don't want to believe that they are targeting players with addiction.

Our goal, though, is to inform all our users about every online casino and let you know whether the casino is safe or not. We, of course, need help from our users as well to inform everyone about their experience.

Did you know that we have a list of the help centres you can search for if you wish to? Here it is, in case you decide to use some of them. I hope it'll help you stay well.

Hi Romi,

I completely agree that not all of them are out to target problem players I just feel that some advertise responsible gaming but without having to enforce it which I completely disagree with.

I believe if a player reaches out stating a problem and you advertise responsible gaming the account should be excluded. Unfortunately this isn't always the case they seem to ignore your requests. Why ? Can only be financial gain Unfortunately.

But again agreed not all are in this category but I've seen it with a few of these now.

I also can't help but feel the advertising of "non gamestop" is reaching out to players who may have a problem, players who have made that big step to realise their problem and contact gamestop.

But now there is a new door open ....

Just a thought

Hi Jonny, I'll answer you, I just opened a complaint yesterday because I have been under treatment with a psychologist since November 2023 for gambling addiction, I seriously risked losing my house, I ended up in court, I was helped by my parents who, by paying, canceled the sentence otherwise I would have found myself with my girlfriend and my 3 cats outside the house without a place to stay, I activated self-exclusion from casinos forever, yet from 10 July to 18 July 2024 I fell back into it via a casino that still let me allowed to play, after months of not doing so, I lost everything again, I signed up to the casino in 2022 with the same email and verified with the same telephone number used for national self-exclusion (the casino has the possibility of operating in my country so it seems incredible to me that he was not excluded there too given that they had the email and telephone number details, unfortunately I don't remember if I had done the complete KYC that year), I had requested via private message and self-exclusion via live chat shortly after the first eviction received, as the casino does not have its own self-exclusion function, unfortunately I was not listened to, I found the door open a few days ago and I fell for it again, now I cannot pay the rent and I'm already 10 days late, I've increased the appointments with my psychologist but I feel cornered, full of shame, I continue to live with anxiety in my stomach and the fear of having to relive everything. I no longer live well, gambling addiction is not taken seriously, and now I (like many other people who are probably afraid to get help) am risking losing everything again, and I don't know how to get out of it.

This is exactly the point I am making and unfortunately more and more of these companies are opening up and under the advertisement "non gamestop"

It's easy to say just avoid them but it's not that easy for a problem gambler.

When you check reviews on other platforms they mostly give them a thumbs up but will not mention the dark side.

They all advertise responsible gaming and state 24/7 support but unfortunately don't truly support this.

I strongly believe they should all have a duty of care of their players.

I hope you find the help you need

I thank you,

I know it won't be easy, I was sure I was finally out of it, but it was enough to see an advertisement on that casino's website to get in, discover that I could still play, and get all my money taken away again.

I think it's the same with any addiction, it never goes away.

There should be strong gambling laws that companies abide by.

Could you look at contacting your bank and try getting a gaming block?

I tried it some time ago, but there are many, too many ways to deposit with other companies that allow it, and even if I block those deposits, there are always cryptocurrencies, manual top-ups that you buy at the supermarket, it's useless to block a method if then there are 1000 others

I know this too, I've seen all the methods and you will always find a way.

Have you got someone close to you who you could give access too to gain control over your accounts and guide you to a healthier living.

I think you need to try everything to fight this and prevent going down that dark road

I had requested that my girlfriend have access to my accounts, she had them for 3 months, then she wanted to trust me, and I betrayed her trust, again, unfortunately there are no safe methods, I had really stopped, 5 minutes are enough to get ruined again

It's easy to say but I try thinking before a bet or deposit, am I going to win? Have I won in the past? Before depositing a sum or feeling the need to gamble put that sum in a separate savings account and see what you have after a year. You'd have that financial fulfillment that's worth more than any bet.

As I said easier said than done.

It's clear to say non gamestop companies are not helping . What can be done ? Its a topic that needs discussion.

It's not easy because when I start playing everything becomes irrational, in these months without playing I had bought several useful things for my house and for my girlfriend, I had saved some money, but now I have nothing left, after having lost my first $500 I started playing to recover the sum, ending up losing everything, my thoughts are less clear when playing.

I read on this site that they are working on a global exclusion, but I think this is also easier said than done.

You've created a serious discussion topic, and I hope other members will join the conversation.

I hope so because this is a serious issue.

Me personally think it's wrong to advertise as non gamestop let alone have no tools in place to protect players with problems.

I understand what you say everything becomes irrational but try to think of that feeling of regret that comes once you have lost. Its a horrible feeling.

I wish there was something you could replace the feeling to gamble with. Have a think and try finding that something.

It should really be taken very seriously when it comes to responsible gaming, and every casino should immediately act whenever a player asks for the closure of the account due to their gambling addiction.

I surely do get your point here, and to me, it doesn't really make sense why they would advertise it like this, to tell you the truth.

Hi, I hope to be able to get even just 50% or 60% of the lost sum to be able to pay the rent, go back to having a peaceful life with less anxiety, and be excluded forever from that mess and also from the others.

Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear about your struggles imnitd4ny. The game is viscious and there are many traps.

Online gambling is regulated country by country and many online casinos are targeting players from off-shore. There is little effective way how to prevent it except player choosing the locally regulated option. This applies for protection as well, especially self-exclusion. Volume for "casinos not on gamstop" is huge, unfortunately.

I understand that it is difficult to avoid this when you are experiencing problems with control. However, it is important to continuously work on that. As you might already know.

Even though there is no international self-exclusion system, there is a blocking app that can help you. It will block the access to gambling websites and apps on your devices, providing the only international protection currently available. Check out BetBlocker website. We recently started working closely with them to support the initiative around global self-exclusion. Read the instructions carefuly and do not block information sites, if you want to keep access to Casino Guru.

Hold tight,

Simon

Good morning Simon,

Thank you for your reply and for your advice, I will look at it after I have resolved my complaint, now I'm afraid of doing damage and blocking everything 😀
