I hope everyone is safe. I'm a new member here, and I would like to get suggestions on tax rebates. I work as a software engineer, and I'm very much interested in gambling. I used to visit casinos often before this COVID scenario. Later I got busy with my work, and now I'm on a 1-week vacation to refresh my mind. I have a plan to start online gambling. While discussing this with my colleague, he said that it's possible to get a refund on the amount that was deducted from the winnings I had.

To learn in detail, I plan to consult a tax rebate service in Canada. Does anyone know about these tax rebate procedures? Is this law applicable in online gambling games? Please share your knowledge.

I guess it's like all tax return out there, but if u gambling try to use some payment processor .. i don't know how they can know that u are won some money on casino? or u have to report yourself like some freelancers?

idk, but that's dumb thing, u even struggle to win anything on casino, and even if u do, someone take 30%?

It was intimidating when the IRS deducted 30% of the prize money because of the US tax system. While arguing with the people and a few friends, people suggested that it's possible to refund the sum decreased from the winnings by filing a tax rebate.

So I'm planning to consult a tax rebate service in Canada to get a better idea. Before that, I would like to know about this in detail from the gamblers here. Does anyone know about the tax refund law that is existing in Canada and its procedures? Even if there is a possibility to recover the taxes, is it going to be an uncomplicated process considering the current situation where casinos are trying to recover from the losses incurred by COVID-19? Do all casinos follow the same refund policy, or do they each have their own policy?
