Am I a money launderer?

I'll tell you a little about myself. I've been playing online casino games ever since they were invented...and previously other very different gambling games. Sometimes I've lost and sometimes I've won. In that respect, there is nothing to complain about, because life is usually about winning and losing in different things. In the early days of online casinos, playing was almost always clearer and simpler and the rules were clear, because playing was only thought of as playing where the purpose is to win money, not so much as some kind of money laundering hideout. In the early days, the rules were so fair (even to the detriment of the casinos) that with brisk investing and tactics, you could win considerable money.

Just like playing in sports, the goal is to win and the prize for winning is money, so maybe it's not worth talking about recreational gambling, because money is the measure of victory in sports as well, and gambling should be approached in the same way. Gambling is also a kind of sport like chess or golf (but more difficult, and not valued) and only approx. 5% of players get to significant profits. Losing and winning is completely natural and the so-called problem gambling could easily be prevented, but it would hardly be very profitable for the casinos and would take all the excitement out of the games. Although games are based on some kind of randomness, even randomness has its own laws, i.e. absolutely perfect randomness does not exist. You can play around with different mathematical probabilities. The problem with gambling is often greed, not so much that you can't win.

Now, however, I haven't played for the last six months (for the first time in ten years) and even that hasn't caused any problems other than the fact that life feels a little more boring.

The reason for that is a strange dispute with a casino.. the details of which I don't want to go into here. I deposited 1500 e in the casino (which is not so much now when you get some back with the cashback system) The money didn't leave my account immediately, but the bank asked permission for the deposit and paid the money from its own checking account the next day. What was the consequence? The result was that the casino persistently claims that the bank's checking account is my own account, and refuses to believe that it is not. The big problem is that the bank has not shown much help in solving the problem and it has dragged on for several months, took time and got on your nerves, required a lot of unnecessary work and at least so far has made no progress, despite continuous complaints. Acting sensibly, the matter would be could be resolved in a few days.. I think that the bank is also partly to blame and it should do something about it, but it has only made things worse. In previous years, I have deposited significantly larger sums and there have been no problems. ..still to the same casino. Been its regular customer for many years! If I wanted to practice money laundering, I could do it much easier in other ways. Without the help of the casino guru, I would have been completely lost. I would like to ask if others have had similar problems and how have you managed them?

What did I learn from this? In the future, I will stop using banks and switch to playing only with cryptocurrencies,

Hi there! Nice to e-meet you.

I truly hope others will somehow respond to your thoughts, experiences, and opinions rather than just me solely, because my attitude toward gambling is quite different. 🙂

However, despite acknowledging you don't want to delve into details regarding the so-called money laundering, I would love to understand the matter. Honestly, it's not pretty clear to me at this moment; perhaps a little hint on how the banking system works in your country might help me out. For instance, I just can't figure out how the bank deposited from its account on your behalf to the casino. As far as I can tell based on those few sentences you provided, I have never heard about this before.

Help me understand the matter, please.

Hi Radka!

Thank you for your comment. You are absolutely right. There are many angles to play. .just like the players. Everything depends on your own experiences, which are very different. As for Finnish banks, I could criticize them a lot (and I'm not the only one), but nothing more than that. I think they're not very user-friendly. Why does a bank make a deposit from its own account, it's because of the ever-tightening legislation in Finland. It wasn't like that before. It's not nice to complain, but you can't help the facts.

For example, when I was in Spain, I got better service/understanding from the banks even though I wasn't even a customer! JAN

Hi janthra!

It's a pleasure talking to you like this. The world would be a terribly boring place to live if we all had the same tastes and preferences. Is that so?

I think I am starting to see the issue now. It is in fact in some way governed by local law,... Only other Finns, I suppose, would be qualified to comprehend what has befallen you. For example, I am from the Czech Republic, and I firmly believe that our gambling laws are quite lax in comparison to those of many other European countries.

No wonder crypto has become so popular despite the fact that this currency brings a few things one should always keep in mind. I wonder if I should say that, but I imagine I would be the first to label the bank restrictions as a hyppocracy tool and leave for good. Don't tell anyone. 😀
