The player from the United Kingdom had deposited funds into accounts opened by his partner, unaware of the amount. Shortly after making a deposit at 888sport, the account had been suspended due to responsible gaming concerns. He had deposited a total of £2000 across the accounts. The player was on Gamstop, and was aware that it was his lack of self-control that had led to the issue. He had questioned whether the casino would return the deposited money if the account was closed. We had explained that the casino was not obligated to refund the money due to the breach of terms. The complaint had been subsequently rejected due to these reasons.

I am on Gamstop. My partner, Julie Sp*** opened an account and with permission (no knowledge of amount) i used my Apple pay to deposit £1600. When i deposited another 400 in 888sport (also an account Julie opened) they allowed the deposit and then stopped the account about half an hour later. They now have suspended the account due to responsible gaming issues.

Could you please advise why did you partner used your payment method to deposit into the casino? When was the last time you spoke to the casino and what was it about?

Please note that using a 3rd party payment (any other than your own) is strictly against every single online casino's condition and they had the right to close any account related to you and her as well.

Okay so my partner has opened the account with MGM BET. I deposited money into this account, 1600 in total. i am on Gamstop and i know it’s my fault (no self control) but i would assume that depositing money to an account which is not from the account holders accounts and the person depositing is on Gamstop would not be allowed. if i had won would they have paid out?


i understand that this is my fault and if nothing else’s it could stop this happening to someone else.

The owner of the payment may try to request a refund from the casino but it is up to them if they refund it or not as by breaching the casino terms, they are not obligate to.
