Can't get enough delicious treats? Get ready to step into a sugary candyland when you play Sweet Bonanza by Pragmatic Play. Float away on clouds of cotton candy as you go in search of every kind of sugary substance you can imagine.
The Sweet Bonanza max win comes in at an impressive 21,100x your stake amount, and with an above average RTP and cool Multipliers in the free spins round, there's a lot to look forward to. Let's get right into this sugary spectacle, in our Sweet Bonanza slot review.
The theme of this game is very whimsical and colorful. Clouds are made of cotton candy, and the trees are upside down ice cream cones. There's no real storyline, but you won't need one when you're in a sugar coma.
If you're a fan of this theme, Pragmatic Play actually has a whole lot of other similar games: Sugar Rush, Sweet Rush Bonanza, and Sweet Bonanza 1000. They all have slightly different features, but they look a lot alike.
The video quality on the Sweet Bonanza game is good, but as you'd expect, it's not the most realistic-looking slot. However, the visuals definitely do the job of transporting you to Candyland.
Unsurprisingly, the soundtrack is similar to other candy-themed slots by Pragmatic, like Sugar Rush. It's a light, sweet tune and there are some classic slot machine rings and dings when you land winning symbols.
If action slots like Wanted Dead or a Wild are your style, you might want to stay away from this one. The graphics look like an explosion in a candy store (but that's kind of the point). There are some subtle background animations like clouds drifting across the sky, but with so many colors, I'm actually grateful there isn't too much movement.
As this game is so popular, you might be expecting extreme volatility, but that's not the case. It's more on the medium side, so wins don't tend to be that big. While we'd rather recommend high volatility games, the above-average Return to Player (RTP) percentage of 96.6% is Sweet Bonanza's saving grace.
The minimum stake amount is set at $/€/£0.20 per spin, which is quite standard for Pragmatic Play slots, and you can bet for up to $/€/£100 at a time.
The Sweet Bonanza slot doesn't come with paylines, so matching symbols pay anywhere on the grid. You'll just need at least eight of them on the screen at the same time.
In some regions, you can use the Bonus Buy feature to pay into the Free Spins round. It costs 100x your stake, but if your bankroll is big enough, I'd recommend it, as I found the bonus game to be the highlight of Sweet Bonanza.
The symbols in Sweet Bonanza couldn't get tastier. You'll be on the lookout for colorful candies like a red heart and a purple square, while fruits pay out smaller wins.
You can't miss the swirly lollipop Scatter that opens up the Free Spins feature and when you're in the bonus game there's also a Multipliers symbol which can take a multiplier value of up to 100x. The only thing missing is Wilds, which are uncommon in games with Tumbles.
Tumbles: After every spin, any winning combinations are paid out and then they disappear from the grid so that new ones can land. This gives you an extra chance to bag a win.
Free Spins: Get at least four Scatters to launch the Free Spins round. You'll have 10 free games, complete with Multipliers which hold random values of between 2x and 100x. The Tumble feature is active during Free Spins, so there's lots of winning potential.
The Sweet Bonanza slot game definitely isn't for everyone – the theme can get a bit much after a while, and the volatility isn't high enough to make for particularly exciting play. But the game's strength lies in the Free Spins round. I got a few 8x Multipliers when I tried it for my Sweet Bonanza review and came out with around 200x my stake in the end. If you're looking for something colorful and light-hearted, I can barely think of a better slot.
