19 Dec 2025Join the Monkey King, Sun Wukong, as he journeys through the jungles of ancient China. Naughty Wukong by Habanero is a three-reel slot game, but that doesn't mean it's simple and boring.
The game is set in a lush valley, with a majestic waterfall in the background. It's a tranquil setting, but the game provides all the thrills you need – especially if you get lucky enough to bag the progressive jackpot.
All of the symbols have an ancient Eastern vibe, and the soundtrack combines a traditional Chinese feel with a more modern rock beat, featuring drums and electric guitars.
The monkey, temple, and Hamsa (hand eye) symbol pay out, as does the Wild. The fruit icons award smaller wins.
The game comes with 27 fixed ways to win and you'll need to get three of the same symbols on different reels to get a payout. Because this game only has three reels, it's a little different to five-reel or six-reel games, in that symbols have to match on all reels.
Naughty Wukong is a relatively simple game with only a few bonus features.
The Wild symbol pays the most, and it also substitutes for other regular symbols to complete winning combinations.
The Naughty Wukong feature is triggered with every single spin. One monkey from each spin will randomly move to another position and pay out.
Naughty Wukong comes with two progressive jackpots, the Minor and the Grand. The jackpots can trigger at the end of any spin, so there's no need to look out for any special symbols to win the prize. The Grand jackpot stood at five figures at the time of writing our review, and the size of your bet doesn't influence the potential jackpot payout.
The minimum bet on the Naughty Wukong slot game is just $/€/£0.08, making it a good option for anyone playing on a budget. The maximum bet amount is very high at $/€/£1,600. The standard max win is 2,997x your stake amount, but this can be higher if you win a jackpot prize.
The game has a fairly high Return to Player (RTP) percentage of 96.84%, and the volatility is medium, so wins tend to be well-spread but not too big. While the game is still fun, we generally prefer higher-volatility games, as you stand a better chance of landing bigger wins.
We're big fans of progressive jackpot slots, especially when the jackpot can be triggered randomly on any spin. While the jackpot might not be quite as big as some other games, it's still an excellent feature. We also like the Naughty Wukong feature, as it feels fresh and different from the usual Wilds, Free Spins, or Multipliers that come with most modern video slots.
