Are you a master at the ancient game of Mahjong? Well, you don't need to be one to stand a chance at a payout on the Mahjong Wins Super Scatter slot by Pragmatic Play.
This might just be the most unique-looking slot we've ever played. Rather than symbols appearing in blocks on the grid, they're designed to look just like Mahjong tiles. The tiles land gracefully on the grid, and if you land a winning combination, the tiles will spin before the Tumble feature removes them from the grid. But more about that later.
The soundtrack takes inspiration from Asian-style music, with a mix of pipes and keys creating a relaxing atmosphere. It's just the thing for a calming game like this one.
Mahjong Wins Super Scatter is a five-reel game. The first and fifth reels each hold four symbols, while the middle reels hold five each. Wins pay on adjacent reels from left to right in any position, so you'll have a total of 2,000 different ways to win. The symbols are all Mahjong tiles, so they fit the theme beautifully, with no random generic icons thrown in.
After wins pay out at the end of a spin, the Tumble feature removes winning symbols from the grid, allowing new ones to replace them. With each Tumble, you'll get an increasing Multiplier, which maxes out at 5x.
This game has lots of special features, so we'll just tell you about the most important ones.
Firstly, regular symbols marked in gold can randomly appear on reels 2, 3, and 4 at any time. If they're part of a winning combination, they'll turn Wild for the next Tumble.
Three or more Scatter symbols will get you into the Free Spins round with 10 spins. You'll get another two Free Spins for every extra Scatter. During Free Spins, all wins start with a 2x Multiplier (increasing up to 10x with subsequent Tumbles) and all symbols on reel 3 are gold.
The Super Scatter feature works the same as in other similar games, for example, Sugar Rush Super Scatter. If you land these extra special symbols in combinations with other Scatters, you'll get an increased payout. The max win of 100,000x is awarded if you get at least four of the Super Scatter symbols anywhere on the grid.
Mahjong Wins Super Scatter is a highly volatile game, which is exactly what we look for. High volatility means that wins aren't too frequent, but they're usually bigger than average. The Return to Player (RTP) percentage of this game is set at 96.50%, which is above average, as most slots sit at around 96%.
You can spin on Mahjong Wins Super Scatter for between $/€/£0.20 and $/€/£240 per go. The max win is an impressive 100,000x if you manage to land enough of the Super Scatter icons.
If the unique look and feel of this game wasn't enough to grab your attention, we're willing to bet that the 100,000x max win did the trick. We really liked how this game doesn't look like your average slot, because somehow it makes gameplay feel a bit more interesting. The Free Spins and Tumble Multipliers also add a bit of extra fun and some more thrills, so overall we'd say this is a good option for anyone seeking a high-volatility game with big potential payouts.
