You might have to take a trip to the underworld if you're looking for a win on this Pragmatic Play slot.
Gate of Hades is themed around Greek mythology, with the central character being the Ruler of the Dead himself—Hades. The visuals are seriously impressive, featuring animated fires, ominous skies, and of course the Hades character.
The soundtrack is nothing short of menacing. It's a stomping drum beat that is certain to instill fear into your very soul! The music fits perfectly with the ominous theme and the bolts of lightning that constantly strike in the background.
Played on a grid of 6 reels and 6 rows, the game grid takes up a big chunk of your screen. Rather than usual paylines, Gates of Hades pays out when you land at least five of the same symbols in a block, touching horizontally or vertically. The more of the same symbols in the block, the bigger your payout will be.
You'll trigger the biggest possible wins by landing lots of the crown, ring, or goblet symbols. The colorful jewels also pay out but in smaller amounts.
After every spin, the Tumble feature will kick in, removing any winning symbols from the grid, to allow more symbols to fall into their place. Tumbles can happen again and again, until there are no more winning combinations.
The Wild looks like a burning ring of fire and it can appear during the base game, Tumbles, or Free Spins, to substitute for other standard symbols. Wilds can carry a Multiplier of up to 100x. Multipliers collect during Tumbles and are applied right at the end.
The Scatter symbol takes the form of the flaming head of Hades, and it can appear on any reels. If you land at least three Scatters, you'll get into the Free Spins round. The more Scatters the better, while three of these special symbols bag you 10 Free Spins, six of them will get your 20 bonus games.
Gates of Hades is a high-volatility game, which means that wins aren't too frequent, but they tend to be a little bigger than average. The Return to Player (RTP) percentage is set at 96.52%, which is very slightly higher than average.
You can select your stake from a range of options between $/€/£0.20 and $/€/£240 a go. In both the base game and Free Spins, the maximum win amount is limited to 10,000x, which is very good if you're betting for the max amount.
What could possibly be more entertaining than a high-volatility Pragmatic Play slot game, set in the depths of hell? Sure, if you're more into sugar-sweet games like Sugar Rush, this particular title might not be for you, but if you're looking for something fun and entertaining, we'd highly recommend it. The Tumble feature and Free Spins round keep things interesting, and with a chance to win up to 10,000x your stake, there are worse places to be than the underworld!
