Legal steps in Austria

Hello everybody!

As some of you may have noticed, I'm in the process of excluding myself from all casinos! Apart from the fact that all casinos in which I am registered operate illegally on the Austrian market, my big problem is my gaming behavior! I believe that the majority of users who read the "Responsible Gaming" forum can understand very well what I mean by that!

I've already filed a few complaints here! I've had a lot of help here! But sometimes I have the feeling that the platform is not really conveying neutrally! I have a few questions and some of you may be able to give me valuable and useful tips based on your experience:

1.) Curaçao supervisory authority: there are countless emails circulating on the internet to which complaints can be addressed! I didn't get a reply from any of them! Either the email addresses are no longer up to date or the supervisory authority is just as corrupt as many of the casinos licensed in Curacao! I have asked Casinoguru several times to provide a valid email address! Was ignored every time! The platform thereby prevents complaints in Curacao! Does anyone have a valid email address or tips?

2.) no license in Austria: does anyone know what happens if I report a casino for illegal gambling in Austria! Will the authorities investigate? Is the casino held legally responsible by the authorities?

3.) I get 2-3 messages a day from casinos spamming me with ads! Blocking doesn't work! Unfortunately it is not possible to change your email address! Due to the European data protection regulation, the casino is liable to prosecution here, and penalties for misuse of the data result in very high fines! Anyone know where I can file a complaint here?

Thanks in advance for the tips and help

I get about 15 casino spam emails a day and 3 texts I've blocked 50+ they don't care they prey on the vunrable gambler who have played at an online casino or 2!! Even my friend who has never joined an online casino gets texts and emails where they get the numbers and email addresses is beyond me. You have to be strong if you want to give up gambling but like all addictions you have to keep saying no and stay away. I just had a 3mth break and spent the money I would normally gamble much more wisely unfortunately I gave in again and lost €1000!!🤮

Hello,

since you mentioned that "But sometimes I have the feeling that the platform is not really conveying neutrally! I have a few questions and some of you may be able to give me valuable and useful tips based on your experience:" I'll just want to let you know that I hope you will get better information from players.

My personal opinion about point number 2: I think you should ask a lawyer with experience with the gambling industry. Because I feel that casino that is not licensed in a particular country should be sued elsewhere.

May I have a question? Would you return your winnings to the casino without a proper license in case you won? If you have the same chances and the winnings or losses are fair, why the refund?

So the best way would be to play only in AT-licensed casinos.

Hello Radka!

First of all I would like to answer the question of whether they would give back the winnings of casinos (without a license): Yes! If in return I also get the losses replaced!! What do you think is more important: wins or losses!? We all here know the answer! Why a refund: because I've locked myself out of over a hundred casinos, and some of these casinos are taking advantage of the gambling weakness and spamming me with emails, urging me to play!

Hello Ares191,

Do not worry, I understand that your main concern is to get back the deposits.

That's why I provided my point of view about the layer, AT-licensed casinos, and fairness.

The rest is up to you. I do not have your experiences with all those casinos, I just can see that you already submitted quite an amount of complaints - 15 till today, and it's fair to say that 5 were rejected, 3 were marked as other or players stopped responding, 2 are opened and the rest was approved. So I perfectly understand that at least we both have different optics.

Still, I'm able to respect you as a player, and a person with your own opinions, so I tried to provide some reaction.

I must say that tons of players suffer daily from those spamming emails and there is no ultimate solution how to make it all stops 🙁 - I agree.

Hello Radka

I would like to comment briefly on my complaints! First of all, I have to say that I'm really very grateful that you always hoped for me here! THANK YOU

All my complaints are or were justified! A part was rejected because I could not prove everything!

I closed over a hundred accounts and actually almost completely withdrew from this area! In contrast to many other players who have a problem with their gaming behavior, my losses are really relatively small! I have not gambled more than I could afford and have never risked or gambled any savings or other assets! But I was really registered in many casinos! However, I've only played at a fraction of the casinos I've registered at! But nevertheless it was necessary to close all accounts! Many casinos have caused problems here and refused to close the accounts or pay out remaining amounts! Accordingly, I filed a complaint! Some were rejected due to lack of evidence! Due to the many closures, I sometimes received up to 15 emails a week! To keep an overview, a part has been deleted! That's why not everything could be documented!

When I make a complaint, my primary concern is not to win, but to hold corrupt casinos accountable and to warn other players! I will also consider legal action in Austria at some casinos! Due to the small losses I will not get anything refunded here, but the casino will have to pay a quite high amount of money (court costs and fine) in the event of a criminal conviction in Austria!

Hello Ares1981,

thank you for this comment, I believe it helped me understand you a bit better. Be assured that Casino Guru invests quite an effort to make the world of online gambling more adjustable when it comes to player protection. I'm sure that we can agree that it's a very long run, truly a complex gal to be achieved, along the way, we do our best to support vulnerable players. Sadly, complaints are based on proving issues and suggesting the best - most fair solution, you're correct, one piece of missing proof is what can turn a complaint into a lost case in the eyes of the player. I appreciate your understanding.🙏

Wish you best luck with all that stands before you.

I agree with Radka. Plus, if you want to stop gambling, you need to stay away from it. It's hard in this situation, but you have to.
