Case summary

The player from Ireland wanted to self-exclude but could only do so by contacting the VIP manager, who denied the request. The player was frustrated because he saw this practice as unhealthy and inappropriate. We reviewed the case and found that the player did not clearly state a gambling addiction as the reason for self-exclusion, which was crucial for us to intervene. We advised him on how to properly request self-exclusion and directed him to our Self-Exclusion Assistance Tool. We also recommended professional help centers for gambling problems. The complaint was closed due to lack of evidence supporting the player's claim.

I just want this website to be punished. The only way for a self exclusion on this site is through talking to your VIP manager. I have asked for a closure and self exclusion on numerous occasions. But they simply won't let me close and I think it's disgusting and very unhealthy. I will attach certain emails that my VIP manager Richard said to me so that I won't self exclude. It's disgusting he even says for me to not give up. It's vile and they need to be stopped. I know yous normally side with the bookmaker. But this is out of control when I don't even have the option to self exclude!

Dear Jacko138,

Thank you very much for submitting this complaint. I'm sorry to hear about your problem.

When applying for the self-exclusion, always state clearly the reason why you want your account to be deactivated and specify the time period. Also, email "Subject" should be clearly marked and easily recognizable as casino support receives many requests per day hence, if it’s visibly marked you stand a better chance to have your request granted as soon as possible. I would also strongly recommend that you always save your self-exclusion request so that you have a valid proof of such action.

Example:

Email subject: Self-exclusion due to xxx

Player’s info:

First name:

Last name:

DOB:

Casino login:

Email address:

"Greetings xxx xxx,

I’m writing to inform you that I wish to exclude immediately from this casino and from receiving any gambling-related marketing materials for a minimum period of xxx months/years (lifetime).

The reason that preceded my decision is xxx

I acknowledge that I will not be allowed to rescind my self-exclusion during this period and self-exclusion cannot be lifted before the end of the agreed period."

If you did not specify in your conversations that you wanted to close your account due to gambling addiction, I'm sorry but in our view, you are not eligible for refunds of your deposits.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards

Veronika

I don't get your response. I have literally told them that I wanted to be self excluded permanently. Because I wasn't happy. Did you look at the photos?

I looked at the photos. You did not mention gambling problems or addiction, you only stated that you "just don't like the website". From our point of view, this is not a valid self-exclusion request.

So telling someone that your not happy. Doesnt qualify? Can I quote you on that? Not all gambling addicts like to admit a problem, but when you tell someone that you want to self exclude, surely they should have the respect to do it. And you don't even acknowledge that they are encouraging me not to self exclude. I will always find it disgusting how someone who is supposed to be neutral fights for the bookmakers side. Yous have to live with that. Someday you will question your morals when your older

I'm sorry for any inconvenience you've experienced. It's important to note that as mediators, our primary aim is to assist players who are struggling with gambling addiction and need support in managing their gameplay responsibly. When a player self-excludes due to gambling addiction, we can help facilitate refunds or address issues with the casino. However, without explicit mention of gambling addiction as your reason for self-exclusion, we lack the evidence needed to intervene on your behalf.

I would like to call your attention to our Self-Exclusion Assistance Tool https://casino.guru/global-self-exclusion-initiative/assistance-tool This tool will make it easier for you to block your casino accounts across multiple gambling establishments simultaneously and is not affiliated with any specific casino. The Self-Exclusion Assistance Tool was designed to assist individuals who may be facing challenges with their gambling habits by helping them limit their access to gambling and reduce the potential for further harm.

Above all, if gambling no longer brings you joy and is becoming a burden, it is highly advisable to seek professional assistance. I strongly recommend reaching out to centers in your country that specialize in addressing gambling problems. You can find some of these centers by referring to the following link (https://casino.guru/problem-gambling-help-centers#cnt_87=true)

This complaint will now be closed. Thank you for your understanding, I am sorry we could not be of more help on this occasion. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you run into any issues with this or any other casino in the future.
