Rotten is a slot machine by Hacksaw Gaming. According to the number of players searching for it, Rotten is not a very popular slot. Still, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's bad, so give it a try and see for yourself, or browse popular casino games.
To play for free in demo mode, just load the game and press the 'Spin' button. You can learn more about slot machines and how they work in our online slots guide.
Rotten is themed around a post-apocalyptic world where zombies roam free.
Players will wake up in the dusty ruins of carnival, only to find that every carny has been transformed into an undead monster. As players navigate this bleak scene, they’ll need to watch out for a variety of creepy characters.
Fans of horror will feel right at home playing Rotten.
The soundtrack consists of a tense piano tune blended with the calls of crows and an ominous alarm blaring in the distance. The loop of the soundtrack is quite short, so more than a few players will probably reach for the mute button.
When players press spin there is a delicate click, but the reels themselves spin silently. This feels like a missed opportunity to use the clang of chains or rusty machinery to further the theme.
On the reels, players will meet a range of monsters illustrated in an gritty, artful style that brings to mind modern graphic novels. Some stare out with red eyes, others wear gas masks, and some look a little like Frankenstein.
Behind the reels, a carousel’s lights glow in contrast with the murky sky. A terrifying clown-turned-zombie shuffles forward, and another shadowy figure leers in the distance. The carnival setting was likely once a joyful place, but now it is straight out of a dystopian nightmare.
Rotten is a five- reel, five- row slot, with 35 win lines.
Players can buy directly into the Bonus by selecting the Buy Bonus option.
This slot’s swift gameplay ensures players will remain engaged.
If players land the Switch Scatter symbol, the SwitchSpins feature is triggered, starting with 1-10. During this feature, selected symbols are swapped with either Wild symbols or the highest paying symbol in the game. If players land a new Switch Scatter during the feature, more symbols will be prompted to swap, or additional respins will be added.
While the SwitchSpins feature is active, the number of remaining respins, as well as the replacing symbol, are displayed in the top right corner of the screen.
If players land 3 Mad Scientist Scatter symbols, the Mad Scientist Bonus game is triggered. The feature begins with 10 free spins.
Throughout the Mad Scientist Bonus, players will have a greater chance of landing Switch symbols and triggering the SwitchSpins feature.
Should players land 3 Total Takeover Scatters, the Total Takeover Bonus begins, awarding 10 free spins. This feature can be triggered during the base game or during the Mad Scientist Bonus.
During the Total Takeover Bonus, Switch symbols are more likely to land, and every symbol selected to be replaced is saved progressively. This means that there is no reset after any SwitchSpins set is concluded.
If players land 3 additional Total Takeover symbols during the Total Takeover feature, they will be awarded 4 extra free spins.
The Wild symbol substitutes for all paying symbols.
The return to player of this game is 96.27%, slightly above our yardstick for average of roughly 96%.
