We've all seen the usual slot games that feature the King of the Gods, Zeus, and they all kind of look the same. Well, not this one. Le Zeus - by Hacksaw Gaming - has a bit of a twist: Zeus is a raccoon.

The mischievous little creature lurks at the side of the game grid at all times, gripping its thunderbolt and all decked out in Greek attire. You might recognize it if you've played other Hacksaw Gaming titles like Le Bandit or Le King before. The soundtrack combines a funky tune befitting the raccoon character with a majestic, orchestral vibe that even features a choir in the background.

Gameplay

Le Zeus takes place on a grid of six reels and five rows. The mechanism is very similar to most other slot games: land at least three of the same symbols on adjacent reels, starting on the first reel. Matching symbols need to land on one of the 19 paylines.

Six Wild symbols on one of the paylines will bag you the biggest possible line win, while the helmet and pegasus wings are also high-paying symbols. Greek letters are the lower-paying symbols.

Wilds, Bonuses, and Free Spins

Le Zeus has multiple different bonus rounds, and exciting Mystery Symbols which reveal lots of chances to win.

Mystery symbols land in vertical stacks on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5, and they can reveal high-paying symbols, Wilds, or a Mystery Reel. If the symbols are part of a win, you'll be awarded a Respin, where revealed symbols revert to Mystery symbols and remain sticky.

Mystery Reels spin to reveal special symbols like coins and diamonds, which can hold Multipliers of up to 500x your stake.

Land three of the Free Spins Scatter symbols during the base game to open up the Bolt & Run game. The bonus round is the same as the base game, except Mystery Symbols are sticky throughout.

If you get four Scatters, you'll be awarded the Myth-taken Identity bonus feature. A Mystery Meter is displayed, and you need to land 25 Mystery Symbols to fill it up. If you do, a Reward Spin will be triggered, where every reel is covered in Mystery Symbols.

Five Scatters gets you a very special Hidden Epic Bonus, where reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 are already covered in Mystery Symbols, and low-paying symbols can't land.

You can start the stakes really low, at just $/€/£0.10 per spin, and the maximum is set at $/€/£50. You'll be able to win up to 20,000x your stake if luck is on your side. Le Zeus has a Return to Player (RTP) percentage of 96.26% (above average), and the volatility is medium. This would usually be a downside for us as we prefer more volatile games, but the exciting bonus features make up for it.

Conclusion

If you're a fan of the little raccoon character, you'd be missing out if you didn't give this game a try. The Mystery Symbols are a nice addition, but what really makes this title stand out is the three different Free Spins rounds, where gameplay is very exciting. We were happy with the RTP and maximum win of the game, and overall, we found it to be a fun title.
