Players will be fired off into the cosmos in the quirky, space-themed slot Pirots 4.
Following on from the celebrated series of Pirots games by ELK Studios, players team up with the band of charismatic parrots as they head to distant planets to reclaim stolen treasures from an alien monster.
This slot should appeal to players looking for a cheerful atmosphere with plenty of whimsy.
ELK Studios has opted for a bold cinematic-style score to power its soundtrack.
Classical notes can be heard as the music reaches a crescendo to enhance the atmosphere of the space-parrot mashup, while special sound effects are applied to all wins.
Set against a cosmic backdrop, ELK Studios has perfectly encapsulated the unique blend of sci-fi and cartoon charm.
The reels are populated with parrots donning astronaut clothing while the multi-colored gems sparkle. In the background, aliens lurk menacingly as they prepare to launch an attack.
Overall, the graphics and soundtrack marry together nicely in Pirots 4.
Pirots 4 is spread across a 6x6 grid, utilizing ELK Studios’ trademark CollectR system.
Cascading clusters and expanding reels form the core payout mechanic, where parrots collect adjacent gems of the same color.
Gems can also be upgraded individually to higher payout levels, up to a maximum payout level of 7.
Although there’s no traditional Scatter or Free Spins round, Pirots 4 has a few cool bonus features. This includes Alien Invasion, where the Space Bandits initiate duels with the birds. Winning space duels can increase the Bandits multiplier.
Lost in Space is triggered when the birds have picked up all the collectable symbols during the Spacecoin Feature. An 8x8 grid appears, offering 3 symbol drops. Connecting coin clusters with birds throws up the chance to claim instant win prizes.
Meanwhile, the Free Drops game is triggered when the birds collect 3 Bonus symbols. If one of the bonus symbols is a Super Bonus Symbol, progress on the collection meter, grid size, and gem upgrades are persistent throughout the feature.
The maximum win available playing Pirots 4 is 10,000x your total bet.
The return to player (RTP) of Pirots 4 sits at 94%, which is considerably lower than the 96% industry-expected average.
The range of bets available for this game ran from a minimum of $/£/€0.20 per spin, climbing to a maximum $/£/€100 per spin.
Pirots 4 carries medium-high volatility, meaning wins may be less frequent; however, this slot falls slightly short of our preferred slot machine strategies, which target games with the highest possible volatility rating.
We think Pirots 4 is a game well worth more attention from players.
Although it has medium-high volatility and carries a smaller RTP (94%) than expected, Pirots 4 oozes charm with its cartoonish aesthetics.
The unique bonus features also boast excellent win potential, which should keep players engrossed when they enter the game.
