CQ9 Gaming is a video slots and casino game developer that originates from Taipei, the capital of Taiwan.
The company was set up in 2016 after a team of young developers decided to target the mobile gaming market. Slots games were to be their primary product, and they aimed to take advantage of the high demand for the games in Asian markets.
Within its first two years of trading, CQ9 had produced a small but sweet line of slots, all compatible with mobile devices through the company's use of HTML-5 technology.
After success in its home continent, CQ9 looked outside of Asia for its next move. It acquired the Curacao and Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) licenses to expand its reach into more countries and started to market its games further afield. An appearance at the 2019 ICE Gaming event in London confirmed this ambition.
The company announced a high-profile partnership with EyeMotion in 2019, a software supplier with useful links to the UK and US markets. Its content would now be available on all EyeMotion platforms, as well as existing CQ9 casinos, increasing their exposure to new markets.
You can see much of this content on Casino Guru, where you can play a wide selection of CQ9 slots, as well as other casino games, for free. The next section will show you the titles you should look out for.
One thing we can't accuse CQ9 games of being is bland. A quick look across their game collection shows us that vivid colors are very much part of their aesthetic, with commanding figures and bold titles taking center stage.
Slots form over 90% of their gaming stock, and some of their most popular feature ancient myths and legends as a way to entice new players. Apollo, Poseidon and Zeus are three Ancient Greek Gods that have CQ9 slots named after them. The games are very similar, each set in a godlike structure like a pavilion or coliseum and accompanied by a stirring soundtrack. You'll also find that each God has his own icon, which means different things depending on the game: in Zeus he's the wild, for example. Each game is an enjoyable experience, with a small chance of winning a big prize.
Another common CQ9 slot theme is soccer, as the company tries to appeal to the sport's huge global fanbase. All Star Team depicts the world's best players, like Leo Messi and Neymar, while Football Baby shows off attractive women as a way of generating interest. These games are more basically designed and depend more on the lure of soccer than the prizes they offer. Still, they're a fun way of trying out sports-related slots.
You can also try out CQ9's range of non-slot games, most of which are Tetris-style quick plays like Fruity Carnival and Jewel Luxury. Much like with slots games, you receive wins for winning combos of fruits, cakes or jewels, and they offer a nice variety of themes and graphics for you to try out.
