A little warning here for the CG Community: Casino Guru is an open platform where everyone is free to share their thoughts and opinions. We believe in free speech and try to be as non-restrictive as possible. That said, please remember: just because something is posted on the forum doesn’t mean Casino Guru agrees with it or endorses it in any way. We’re really happy to see players engaging in conversations, debating respectfully, and having fun doing so! That’s why we created this platform. However, we’ve noticed a growing trend – not just here, but across other platforms too – where some players, after losing money fairly in a casino, look for ways to get those funds back through their bank or payment provider, often by filing chargebacks or making false claims. We’d like to warn you: this behaviour is not only unfair – it’s also very risky! We’ve already seen and heard stories (here and elsewhere) of people who got into serious trouble trying to go down this route – including closed casino accounts across multiple platforms, closed bank accounts, debts, and even lawsuits (attempted fraud). Attempting fraud or misrepresenting the truth to a bank or provider is never a good idea and could have lasting consequences. So here’s our friendly appeal to all Casino Guru community members: Stand up against unfair and dishonest casinos. Use our Complaints Resolution Center if you need help – you don’t have to fight alone. But please don’t try to get back money you’ve fairly lost. It’s simply not worth the risk. Thanks for being part of our community – and have a great day!

Nothing much will happen this weekend. Things are quiet in my life, too. So, something will probably develop starting Monday.

Re Mastercard, their own rules state that any other code other than 7995 and the gambling merchant must be acting under the countries applicable laws.

Mastercard do state that gambling transactions will not be refunded however if it is coded incorrectly, by uk law it cannot be deemed as a gambling transaction. However banks are using honesty and integrity of consumers admitting to using gambling websites to refuse raising chargeback.

The FCA say if there is data descrepencies with payments and customer disputes the payment it is not for the bank to decide if a chargeback is viable. (There are cases on FOS website to confirm this I will come back with case numbers) however banks see gambling and deny chargback and it would seem so are FOS in many cases.

If you open a case with the FOS and it is not upheld request all evidence on which they base their decision. I have just won a case as I rejected the decision as when I reviewed the evidence sent from bank it was all related to a previous complaint and held no relevance to what I had raised!

Many so-called "online merchants," when they receive an email from a buyer asking about a suspicious transaction, assume it’s a joke or an attempt to scam them. Instead of looking deeper, most never reply, block contact, or simply delete the message. In some cases, the support team is actually telling the truth-they genuinely don’t see these transactions in their system because the payments pass through hidden layers of intermediaries, but the real operations happen behind the scenes, known only to the company owner or the payment processor that routes and disguises the actual money flow-often connected to online gambling. It usually takes an inquiry from state authorities, banks, or card networks for these merchants to finally realize it wasn’t a prank or a phishing attempt-it was a serious issue all along. That’s why I strongly urge you: if a merchant ignores you, report it. Every report increases the chance of stopping the scheme and recovering your funds before it’s buried under bureaucracy.
