A little warning here for the CG Community: Casino Guru is an open platform where everyone is free to share their thoughts and opinions. We believe in free speech and try to be as non-restrictive as possible. That said, please remember: just because something is posted on the forum doesn’t mean Casino Guru agrees with it or endorses it in any way. We’re really happy to see players engaging in conversations, debating respectfully, and having fun doing so! That’s why we created this platform. However, we’ve noticed a growing trend – not just here, but across other platforms too – where some players, after losing money fairly in a casino, look for ways to get those funds back through their bank or payment provider, often by filing chargebacks or making false claims. We’d like to warn you: this behaviour is not only unfair – it’s also very risky! We’ve already seen and heard stories (here and elsewhere) of people who got into serious trouble trying to go down this route – including closed casino accounts across multiple platforms, closed bank accounts, debts, and even lawsuits (attempted fraud). Attempting fraud or misrepresenting the truth to a bank or provider is never a good idea and could have lasting consequences. So here’s our friendly appeal to all Casino Guru community members: Stand up against unfair and dishonest casinos. Use our Complaints Resolution Center if you need help – you don’t have to fight alone. But please don’t try to get back money you’ve fairly lost. It’s simply not worth the risk. Thanks for being part of our community – and have a great day!

Hi guys, been reading this thread constantly for 3 days now and you've all been really helpful. Question, ive had a response from elegro - they have said they cant verify my identity and I should contact the bank for a charge back. I contacted the bank yesterday and they have referred me to a specialist team who are contacting me by the end of the week. I've said I've relapsed gambling on illegal casinos and that I'm registered with gamstop and I've been scammed. I've gone down the route of mcc codes all being wrong. I've not started any formal chargeback process yet but I'm thinking I might do today. Elegro have said they csnt locate Me so does this mean I have a goodnchance of getting the funds back through charge back? They responded within 24 hours which was surprising and told me to contact bank for charge back. Any advice

Chase seem to make up their own rules haha, even to the point when you say can I have an update they say we are working on it and we will update you 27th, obviously I have challenged this and then they say no response.

Also you have done incorrect MCC so I think you’re ok, Barclaycard did that for me so assume no news I won that as I had refund. Chase will not do the incorrect MCC at all.

Hey could I get some help please. I've spent around 4.5k across multiple different providers. So far I've contacted all the casinos directly and they've all sent me standardised holding emails saying they'll look into it. I've had 2 replies from Finnart.io asking for bank statements and elegro who have said they cant identify me as a customer even though I've sent through bank lists of transactions to them. Elegro have said contact the bank and Finnart I'm waiting on another reply.

My biggest ones are:

Finnart.io

nikotpf*fintech fc

Niktotpf*21masterly London

Artstrid.com

Bytenews

Please can you help? I've contacted the bank yesterday and explained I've relapsed gambling, been on gamstop since 22 and that these are illegal sites using wrong MCC codes. They have referred me to a specialist team who are contacting by Friday but I don't no how this is going to go. I've used credit cards and my bank, both Mastercard even though bank account.

I've contacted all the casinos directly and I've started going directly to thr merchants which is ongoing. Any support u can offer is most helpful as this is ruining my life!

Finnart do come back quickly but will not then respond, some had no response then refund I had £15 out of £240 so bank are charging back. Regarding the original question, I think the correct way is to contact the merchants but also do chargeback at same time that’s the best way to cover all bases, merchants refunding directly appear to be low, banks although hit and miss if they do the chargeback you have a good chance of winning key point is getting them to chargeback. If they won’t do incorrect MCC then do goods not received.

Depends who you bank with I only have two examples Barclaycard via app they then send you a form, I did have to call them to log a complaint to get the chargeback authorised though.

Chase via live chat app but it’s a painful experience, I did have to call them on another one a while back as they did via fraud and couldn’t do that via chat, they outsource the call centres so you end up repeating yourself about 20 times a minute due to the language barrier.

Ok I have not chased at all I am just sitting back and waiting if it gets to 60 days though I would chase as did that last time they can forget to update you

Yes as far as I know that is watertight but goods not received opens a door for them a bit to come back Ive not heard of anyone being challenged on incorrect mcc

filewhich option do I put it through as?

xbigguyxxx

It is, issue is some banks flat out refuse to do the MCC if related to gambling and the FOS is 50/50 if they side with you. It’s really inconsistent, I know from the times with Chase they reject complaints and won’t do MCC so that’s why for these last ones I did goods not received if I win great if not it’s not the major amount I did win on Barclaycard, I’ve gotten to the point that I cannot be bothered with the whole complaints and FOS so have chanced the goods route.

Hi there the one you have selected you cannot do it at that stage it needs to be raised by them just do goods or services at first explaining what happened
