A little warning here for the CG Community: Casino Guru is an open platform where everyone is free to share their thoughts and opinions. We believe in free speech and try to be as non-restrictive as possible. That said, please remember: just because something is posted on the forum doesn’t mean Casino Guru agrees with it or endorses it in any way. We’re really happy to see players engaging in conversations, debating respectfully, and having fun doing so! That’s why we created this platform. However, we’ve noticed a growing trend – not just here, but across other platforms too – where some players, after losing money fairly in a casino, look for ways to get those funds back through their bank or payment provider, often by filing chargebacks or making false claims. We’d like to warn you: this behaviour is not only unfair – it’s also very risky! We’ve already seen and heard stories (here and elsewhere) of people who got into serious trouble trying to go down this route – including closed casino accounts across multiple platforms, closed bank accounts, debts, and even lawsuits (attempted fraud). Attempting fraud or misrepresenting the truth to a bank or provider is never a good idea and could have lasting consequences. So here’s our friendly appeal to all Casino Guru community members: Stand up against unfair and dishonest casinos. Use our Complaints Resolution Center if you need help – you don’t have to fight alone. But please don’t try to get back money you’ve fairly lost. It’s simply not worth the risk. Thanks for being part of our community – and have a great day!

Hmmm - replied to me with some nonsense about not being a gambling company and being an educational courses company. No mention of a refund.

I have a screenshot of my bank asking me to verify the transaction with their name visible on the Satenda website, so assume can chargeback easily if mention wrong MCC

I would reply back to them and push the issue, show the evidence. Chargebacks aren’t really that easy with the banks, I thought it would be however Barclays is pushing back saying services have been provided despite the wrong MCC which is ridiculous

Hi everyone! I had a really strong case to send to Revolut. Because it was a large amount. Before I made a chargeback I read through this whole thread, I read experiences online, I knew you can't mention gambling otherwise the chargeback will be rejected. My case was briefly as follows, I deposited to x casino the payments never arrived on the site. And this was completely true. I sent the following description to Revolut:

  1. products and services were not delivered
  2. I made a money transfer to site x (this casino's site did not contain the word casino) the money never arrived on the site, I thought it was a legitimate site which turned out to be unlicensed. The payment was made through a random merchant that I do not recognize and have never heard of. The MCC code used misclassified the payment and the funds never appeared in my account. I never received the services I paid for
  3. I provided a lot of evidence, including an email from the casino saying the deposits haven't reached them, please contact your banks.

The 1200e chargeback I withdrew was rejected by one merchant, stating that "your request has been rejected. We must handle complaints in accordance with the rules of the Revolut card issuer (e.g. Visa or Mastercard). According to these rules, we can only make a complaint about the original payment amount, and not about any winnings if it concerns payments made on betting or gambling platforms.

Another chargeback for the same incident but to a different merchant with exactly the same evidence was raised and sent to the merchant. Ridiculous.

So what I've realized is don't make chargebacks that can in any way be connected to gambling.

After this I filed another chargeback, the products were not received, the merchant provided a fake receipt that was literally made using chatgtp, I went to chathtp and I can tell you it's not difficult, what's the craziest about this is that Revolut accepted it and settled the dispute in favor of the merchant.

I've been reading this discussion and have noticed that more and more merchants are falsifying proofs and it's impossible to find payment processors and merchants because they simply don't exist. More and more chargebacks end up in the merchant's favor (false proof), or nowadays they don't even agree to withdraw it because you don't have a receipt for the order, etc. by Revolut. I'm just wondering if merchants like to do this, has anyone tried something similar?

Worth noting some merchants somehow use the correct MCC and so in that case chargebacks become impossible

Follow up to this. Sent them the screenshot showing Barclays module which asks to verify the payment to them, and the screenshot shows that module is popping up on the casino site (i.e. matches the merchant to the casino) and now they're refunding.

Of course I am aware of this. But it was just funny because my revolut card has a gambling block so this shouldn't be possible and the mcc code wasn't under gambling.

I just noticed that this merchant was located at 85 Great Portland Street, which has hundreds of virtual offices and many of these merchants use this address, this just proved that Revolut decided to stand behind them.

Revolut justified this to me as follows: "Our internal investigation showed that this merchant and payment are related to gambling, if the MCC code was selected incorrectly during the payment method phase, unfortunately the gambling blocking blocks do not work then" nonsense, literally admitting that the merchant is using the wrong MCC classification 😂
