Ancient Tumble joins the growing genre of post-Indiana Jones games. The main character is a rugged adventurer raiding ancient tombs.

The player will have to dodge traps on this globetrotting adventure for fans of franchises like Tomb Raider or Uncharted.

The world is introduced by a fully animated introductory sequence in which we see our Nathan Drake-type main character arrive in the jungle with an ancient key.

Graphics, Sounds and Animations

From the opening cinematic to the win and spin animations, Ancient Tumble is chock full of great visuals. The background jungle is detailed with animated rain and swaying vines. The main character stands by the reels and watches the player’s progress with small animated movements including a little head nod when the player wins.

The sound effects are atmospheric although the win and spin sounds are perhaps a little to slot-machiney and lack the jungle feel of the rest of the slot. The sound effects are augmented by a cinematic score that helps make the player feel like they are in a movie.

Gameplay

Ancient Tumble is a six-reel slot with six rows and an anyway-wins system. What makes the game a bit different from your average slot with these numbers is the cascade system.

Some of the symbols on each reel are blank Block symbols on every spin. When the player hits a winning combination, the symbols are destroyed as are any Blocks that touch them on that reel. The remaining blocks then fall down to take their place and new symbols are added to the top of the reels to replace the lost blocks. Any new wins (and associated cascades) are then resolved before moving on to the next spin.
