Simple, basic, Just Jewels is just that. With no bonuses or free spins, it is a stripped down slot experience with a disappointing RTP.
Read full reviewJust Jewels takes as its theme the many trappings of wealth in a somewhat on the nose theme for a slot machine. The symbols that decorate your reels are wads of cash and precious stones, crowns and bars of gold.
It also uses the Novomatic skin that looks like an ATM machine, which for once feels in keeping with the general theme of the slot.
If you can get past the very old fashioned looking button array, you will probably find that Just Jewels is pretty nicely put together. The background and designs are all simple, clear and have a kind of classy look that doesn’t overwhelm with bells, whistles or too much detail.
The animations are solid, to the extent there are any – just enough to highlight a win – and the music and sound design is lifted from the Novomatic library. It will sound familiar to anyone who's played a wide enough variety of slots, familiar as Grandma’s cooking.
The gameplay is a twist on a standard 9 win line, five reel slot. The twist is that you can win for any three or more adjacent symbols on a win line. Even if the symbols appear in reels three, four and five or in the middle three reels so long as they fall along a win line, the game pays out.
There is also a black and red gamble function for those who fancy flipping a coin to up the ante when playing.
Beyond that, there are no additional features.
While there are no bonuses, wilds or free spins in Just Jewels, there is a scatter symbol which pays out two times your total bet per spin for three symbols, ten for four symbols and fifty for five symbols.
If you come to slots for the variety provided by bonus games and free spins, this is not the slot for you.
The game has an RTP of 95.42%, a little under the industry average.
The website we tried playing on allowed a minimum bet of $/£/€0.01 per spin up to a maximum bet per spin of $/£/€90.00.
While that doesn’t seem as high a maximum as in some games, Just Jewel has medium to high volatility that can result in it eating up your bankroll before too long.
Just Jewels is a bare bones slot without any bonus features and only a gamble feature to break up the monotony of the gameplay. It is only point of interest is the unusual way in which it allows for wins to occur anywhere on a win line instead of just from leftmost to the right.
Add to this the low RTP and this is not a game we can recommend to our players.
