At its core, Red Hot Luck is a standard cluster-pay slot that serves up good free spins round, some multipliers, and modest winning potential.
Read full reviewRed Hot Luck is a fire and gem-themed online slot from Pragmatic Play. The game has no storyline, with it simply being set in front of a volcano while using gems as symbols.
The Red Hot Luck slot has a very simple design. The game’s giant grid is situated in the middle of a volcanic land, with different colored gems, along with the standard 10-A card symbols, making up the symbols.
As with all Pragmatic Play slots, the game has solid graphics, and it lends itself really nicely to mobile play, largely because of its simple design and theme.
Pragmatic Play has come at the Red Hot Luck slot from a slightly different angle, utilizing a pay system called PowerWays. The developer has used this previously with the Yum Yum PowerWays game.
The first thing you need to know is that the game uses a 7x7 grid and a cluster-pay mechanic. This means wins are formed when symbols land in clusters of five or more, with no traditional paylines active.
The PowerPays system sits on the right-hand side of the grid. Instead of symbol combinations serving up payouts, they are each worth a number of points. Whenever players land a win, it collects points on one wheel, which then corresponds with a payout.
The first feature you are likely to encounter in the Red Hot Luck slot is the Tumble mechanic. This occurs when players land a winning combination. All winning symbols are removed and new symbols fall from above. Points are accumulated during a Tumble. This finishes when no new winning clusters are created.
You will need to keep your eyes peeled for the Scatter symbol. When a Scatter lands, it can display a random multiplier between x2 and x500. If more than one multiplier is present, they will be added together.
Four or more Scatters will trigger ten Red Hot Luck Free Spins. A total multiplier is present throughout the round, with any additional multipliers adding to it. Landing four or more Scatters during the round triggers additional spins.
Pragmatic Play sticks with the kind of math model we have seen in their other titles. It offers a modest maximum win of 5,000x your stake and has an RTP of 96.08% which, according to our slot strategy guide, is around average. The slot has been given a full 5/5 volatility rating.
Pragmatic Play’s PowerPays mechanic deserves credit for trying something different. However, the mechanic feels a little repetitive after a while and fails to really offer a lot to the gameplay. Essentially, Red Hot Luck is a fairly middle-of-the-road cluster-pay slot with some okay winning potential and a solid RTP and volatility.
