Pandastic Adventure from Play’n Go is based around an ancient Panda on a quest to uncover some sort of treasure. The title clearly takes some inspiration from the popular Kung Fu Panda movie franchise, with the game having a bright and playful theme that touches on some martial arts.
Play’n Go has played things safely with the design and theme of the Pandastic Adventure slot. The game is set in the middle of Ancient China, with a gateway to a temple bordering the reels and bamboo sticks sprouting up at the sides. The previously mentioned animated Panda takes center stage as the main character, appearing on the reels alongside a selection of martial arts and Asian-inspired imagery.
The gameplay is just as simple as the game’s design. The action unfolds across five reels and three rows, with 20 active paylines on each spin.
The stake is adjusted at the bottom of the screen using the +/- buttons and will vary depending on the casino it is being played at.
Once again, Play’n Go has not really stepped outside of its comfort zone with the bonus and gameplay features in Pandastic Adventure. The main bonus is a Free Spins round. This triggers when players land three or more Scatter symbols. They will be given eight spins, with an additional spin awarded for every further Scatter.
During the round, Wild symbols become multipliers, adding 8x to wins. These Wilds are collected, and the Temple Treasure Bonus launches when you have eight.
This is a hold-and-spin bonus. Players get three respins, with all standard symbols removed from the grid and replaced with Money symbols. Whenever these land, they stick to the reels and the count resets. They are all collected at the end. Players can also win one of four Jackpots: The Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand. These are worth 50x, 100x, 1,000x, and 5,000x respectively.
Pandastic Adventure has a good math model. The slot has a maximum win of 6,500x your stake, which is solid, not spectacular.
It is considered medium/high on the volatility scale, and has an impressive RTP of 96.20%.
Pandastic Adventure is far from a bad slot, but it is not one that is likely to live long in the memory. The gameplay, design, and bonus features have all been used elsewhere and to better effect. If you are a fan of the theme, then you might find something to enjoy, and the math model is strong enough. Other Panda-themed titles like Big Bamboo from Push Gaming offer much more, and are going to appeal to players looking for more exciting gameplay.
