A little warning here for the CG Community: Casino Guru is an open platform where everyone is free to share their thoughts and opinions. We believe in free speech and try to be as non-restrictive as possible. That said, please remember: just because something is posted on the forum doesn’t mean Casino Guru agrees with it or endorses it in any way. We’re really happy to see players engaging in conversations, debating respectfully, and having fun doing so! That’s why we created this platform. However, we’ve noticed a growing trend – not just here, but across other platforms too – where some players, after losing money fairly in a casino, look for ways to get those funds back through their bank or payment provider, often by filing chargebacks or making false claims. We’d like to warn you: this behaviour is not only unfair – it’s also very risky! We’ve already seen and heard stories (here and elsewhere) of people who got into serious trouble trying to go down this route – including closed casino accounts across multiple platforms, closed bank accounts, debts, and even lawsuits (attempted fraud). Attempting fraud or misrepresenting the truth to a bank or provider is never a good idea and could have lasting consequences. So here’s our friendly appeal to all Casino Guru community members: Stand up against unfair and dishonest casinos. Use our Complaints Resolution Center if you need help – you don’t have to fight alone. But please don’t try to get back money you’ve fairly lost. It’s simply not worth the risk. Thanks for being part of our community – and have a great day!

Filing a complaint is the right approach. Dissolved companies effectively no longer exist, so it should be a straightforward chargeback. Visa and the banks shouldn’t be allowing payments to them in the first place.

Their bank accounts will likely be frozen, meaning your money is probably still sitting there, waiting for the official receiver to claim it and either distribute it to creditors or transfer it to the state under the bona vacantia regulations.

FOS will see this as an open and closed point. All transactions post dissolution of company are normally reversed as your cash cannot be used to pay creditors.

the annoying thing is I made this payment in July, a few weeks later they are now dissolved. Revolut are the worst, wouldn’t raise a chargeback for certain transactions even though they were all part of the same thing.

It’s 100% that company, pal. It’s a shell company — if you look at their filings, they’ve never had any turnover or assets. So realistically, that business has no genuine operations, no creditors, and no assets.

That means the money people are sending them is clearly being routed through a dormant company to hide the real nature of the transactions. Their latest accounts (even though they’re about a year old) confirm they don’t trade in any legitimate capacity, so how can they be legitimately requesting payments from individuals? It just doesn’t add up.

If you haven’t already, raise a formal complaint with your bank and ask why they’re refusing to look into it further — especially if company is dormant.

If you don’t get anywhere with that, then take it to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) — 100%. They’ll review whether the bank handled it properly and whether it should be treated negligent from them
