A little warning here for the CG Community: Casino Guru is an open platform where everyone is free to share their thoughts and opinions. We believe in free speech and try to be as non-restrictive as possible. That said, please remember: just because something is posted on the forum doesn’t mean Casino Guru agrees with it or endorses it in any way. We’re really happy to see players engaging in conversations, debating respectfully, and having fun doing so! That’s why we created this platform. However, we’ve noticed a growing trend – not just here, but across other platforms too – where some players, after losing money fairly in a casino, look for ways to get those funds back through their bank or payment provider, often by filing chargebacks or making false claims. We’d like to warn you: this behaviour is not only unfair – it’s also very risky! We’ve already seen and heard stories (here and elsewhere) of people who got into serious trouble trying to go down this route – including closed casino accounts across multiple platforms, closed bank accounts, debts, and even lawsuits (attempted fraud). Attempting fraud or misrepresenting the truth to a bank or provider is never a good idea and could have lasting consequences. So here’s our friendly appeal to all Casino Guru community members: Stand up against unfair and dishonest casinos. Use our Complaints Resolution Center if you need help – you don’t have to fight alone. But please don’t try to get back money you’ve fairly lost. It’s simply not worth the risk. Thanks for being part of our community – and have a great day!

Could I please have the email address for Mastercard

I need to build an even stronger case than I already have against starling

[email protected]

Just keep piling emails to them and copy in the merchants if needed. Mass action is the only way.

Problem I have is that starling have now refused my disputed twice even after a complaint was lodged

they wont even entertain raising the chargebacks -

they have told me to take it to ombudsman

Only way now is for pressure to be put on Mastercard mate. I would tell everyone here to hammer messages at them and copy merchants in.

Has anyone actually been successful with the FOS, mine seems to be completely siding with the bank even though iv got clear evidence of them failing to protect me from gambling related harm, and then not raising chargebacks for illegal unlicensed casinos??? Anyone had any dealing with them ?

Yeah my FOS investigator worked for a bank previously and is totalling siding with Revolut even though I provided them with ample evidence such as chat transcripts of Revolut lying in live chats. He also referred to my losses of 20k in one night as ‘small transanctions’. This is my first time in my life having a case with FOS and couldn’t be more disappointed with them. 👍

This does not fill me with hope, it seems there is no legitimate help whatsoever, I mentioned when I raised my chargebacks I believe the casino was fraudulent/scam and money laundering due to disguised payments, yet the bank didn't even look into that, it was like I was honest and mentioned gambling and then nobody cared how much I was struggling

I understand, you’re not alone in feeling this way nor is it an unreasonable belief, I definitely think we are judged more harshly by certain people in these organisations because of the gambling element. I haven’t received a penny back in refunds yet many people here report getting thousands, if not tens of thousands, back via chargebacks so I’m at the point where I’ve given up on fighting this as I really don’t know what more I can do. There’s zero consistency in how banks and even the FOS approach this, it really is akin to a postcode lottery in that who you get assigned determines a positive or negative outcome.

The FOS are an absolute joke from what I’ve seen. I haven’t dealt with them myself, but you can find records of their investigations/decisions on their website, and almost always they side with the banks. Their attitude to the complainant is often very dismissive and patronising. I’d urge anyone who’s pinning their hopes on the FOS to have a little read through themselves

I havnt managed to get a single charge back or refund, and there's alot to recover, I'd be happy with half, I couldn't of made it any clearer that the bank has failed to protect me from gambling related harm and didn't so much as call me regarding unusual activity on my account, and then failed to raise chargebacks to the illegally operating casinos is a complete kick in the teeth, now its a fight with FOS, the bank even supplied statements which didn't match my own, which I'm sure they will get away with

I don't understand how you can win a case going services/goods not received whilst also mentioning gambling. This is destined to fail since the gambling was the service. If you are going to chargeback on services/goods not received then you need a plan and that's to play the game of the payment processor. Find out what they sell and say you didn't receive those goods. It's no wonder these cases failed with the fos.
