A little warning here for the CG Community: Casino Guru is an open platform where everyone is free to share their thoughts and opinions. We believe in free speech and try to be as non-restrictive as possible. That said, please remember: just because something is posted on the forum doesn’t mean Casino Guru agrees with it or endorses it in any way. We’re really happy to see players engaging in conversations, debating respectfully, and having fun doing so! That’s why we created this platform. However, we’ve noticed a growing trend – not just here, but across other platforms too – where some players, after losing money fairly in a casino, look for ways to get those funds back through their bank or payment provider, often by filing chargebacks or making false claims. We’d like to warn you: this behaviour is not only unfair – it’s also very risky! We’ve already seen and heard stories (here and elsewhere) of people who got into serious trouble trying to go down this route – including closed casino accounts across multiple platforms, closed bank accounts, debts, and even lawsuits (attempted fraud). Attempting fraud or misrepresenting the truth to a bank or provider is never a good idea and could have lasting consequences. So here’s our friendly appeal to all Casino Guru community members: Stand up against unfair and dishonest casinos. Use our Complaints Resolution Center if you need help – you don’t have to fight alone. But please don’t try to get back money you’ve fairly lost. It’s simply not worth the risk. Thanks for being part of our community – and have a great day!

Has anyone had a response from Skunlock? They have ignored my emails for weeks now and the casino don’t refund.

Also have seen people discussing payop transactions which seem to go nowhere but has anyone had them go to fumopay and managed to get a response from them? I have quite large amounts for both which I stupidly transferred.

I had Skunlock but it went through volt and I did get refunded by them, although Skunlock didn’t respond volt did

Tbh with most of these merchants they aren’t going to reply or refund. I’ve read every single page on this thread and the casinos use merchants for a while, they ‘shut down’, seek other merchants and the cycle continues. The likelihood is that if you can’t find public information for a merchant like website or contact info it’s unlikely they’ll challenge a chargeback.

Yep, spot on.

Although, what we really need to do is make the gambling commission, PSR, card schemes and banks put something in place that prevents this insidious practice and stops us having to go through this horrifically time consuming process in the first place.

Gambling prevention measures in the UK should be watertight. There shouldn't be a situation where us addicts (because that's what we are) fall through the gaps because it's profitable or someone can't be arsed to take responsibility.

I now couldn't give a flying fuck about the money. I'm not denying it wouldn't be nice to get back but I'm more concerned about people who aren't strong enough to deal with this.

I'll be honest, I'd be dead now if I wasn't so incompetent at DIY solutions, if ya get my drift?

I'm just so concerned about those who understand how to tie a knot or put a decent nail in a rafter, those who come after us, are protected.

How can we do this?

I've got my MP involved and they're fully on-board. This has to stop.

You just need to stop gambling, install blocking tools for gambling sites, and that's it.

Otherwise, freerolling is a criminal offense from a certain point onward!

I agree. In fact, I’d argue signing up to Gamstop is more detrimental to gambling addicts, as we all know, one desperate night will land you on some foreign sites. At least with the regulated platforms they have a duty to implement limits, time outs, source of funds etc. I’ve lost far more on unlicensed sites than I ever deposited on UK regulated ones.

What’s done is done, like many others I’ve had some dark times that I didn’t think I’d get through. And it goes without saying a lot of people haven’t made it through that.

For those that have managed to get funds back and want to freeroll, please don’t give it back to gambling sites. Gambling will not fix your problems and you don’t need to be giving yourself extra stress chasing losses, dealing with banks and rogue merchants. It’s time consuming and exhausting. Go on a small holiday, pay some debts, save for your future, start therapy, get that coffee machine you always wanted. I got a cheap run around car with the small amount of money I got back, it’s not much and definitely not fancy but I’m happy knowing my money won’t ever go back into these sites.

Well, that's all you need for a chargeback. And also a good sign that is the right company. Any genuine place would make sure their email worked.

Just say you bought a subscription or whatever and now you can't access the service. Use the email as evidence.

If the bank asks for a receipt, just say you didn't get one or that you accidentally deleted it?

Please though, if you're successful, don't ever gamble again. So many of us relapse. Get help, work out what your triggers are, be happy again

Ever dealt with an addiction before?

Understand the psychology and physical mechanisms of addiction?

You wouldn't be so glib about it if you had lived experience, so please, don't be so condescending. It doesn't help anyone.
