No on the iPhone you press on the sender go to info and then select block contact. It’s mostly the same casinos which is why I think the casinos outsourced it to some other company. How they keep getting different numbers to send it from is a mystery 🤫
They're using something like a virtual telephone exchange that works one way only, I believe.
I get these exact same messages at least 3 times a day.
When I try to block them there is no number to actually block. Have you managed to find a way to stop them? It drives me mad
Yeah 3 times a day about 5.30pm. No it appears the have a inordinate amount of numbers to contact you with. It always comes now with a persons name. If you have an iPhone, not sure about android, I explained how to block the ones they send but as for stopping them permanently I don’t think there is a way yet.
Exactly the same time as mine arrive. Also with a persons name.
I do have an iPhone but when I get to the actual block contact screen the name of the person on the text isn’t visible, so it is effectively blocking a blank contact.
Ive even asked Vodafone to help, their reply was we can change your number! Not exactly what I wanted.
I found out Android should have built in spam filter: https://youtu.be/3WAB1W86i9A
They also mentioned app called Key Messages. It would be nice to find an alternative for iPhone.
Yes I followed the process. Didn’t work for me. It just basically blocks an empty contact and then when I go back into the info the block contact button is there again. Rather than it saying ‘unblock’ contact.
I literally received a text as I was replying to you yesterday.
I’ve got the 13 pro max with latest software. So unsure why it doesn’t seem to work for me
Yes it definitely would. It’s a nightmare. I report every text to 7726.. but nothing seems to get done about it
Your iPhone seems to have the same problem as my old one it just wouldn’t block unwanted texts or calls hence one of the reasons I changed my phone I may now still have blocked over 200 but I still got 2 yesterday
Seems as though changing my number maybe my only option!
I will let you know if I ever find a way to stop them!
Take care
What number I phone have you got mine was a 6s with only 16gb I needed to upgrade to an 8 with 64gb. Changing my number would have invoked so much aggravation it wasn’t an option
WoW well you don’t want to trade that in!! Have you thought of going to the apple store and explaining the problem you have and if you try to them to resolve the problem. You could always say you are dissatisfied with the phone if they can’t and you never know they might give you a replacement. That’s what I would do. You should be able to block unwanted callers and texts
You know I was actually thinking to do that. Might nip in the Trafford centre over the weekend and see what they say!
I'm also thinking that the operator should know the phone number that sent you the message. Maybe you would realise that all the number come from a specific country. Then the operator could block all messages and phone calls from the specific country. I don't believe they send it from the UK.
