The competition is over! Thank you all for joining. We're also very thankful for the feedback you shared in this thread and we're happy the Casino Guru community was willing to help to this research that goes even beyond gambling. I know some of the questions in the survey were tricky and you really needed to spend some time on it. Here are the lucky winners of the $50 Amazon US vouchers: cj103738 | joshaye | michaelbpta | artuurio | Sadboichef17 | GlenvilleK You will be contacted on your email by the end of this week. You can watch the draw recording here:

The tool is highly useful and well-designed for promoting transparency and responsible gambling. By allowing users to upload their gambling activity in PDF format, it offers a simple and effective way to generate a clear summary of their financial outcomes — including net result, wins, losses, and overall spending.

Hey! Sounds amazing!

You, too, have my heartfelt gratitude for assisting the University of Sydney! Developing meaningful tools with usable features is a difficult task; thus, I believe that direct collaboration with caring players has one of the greatest impact on the outcome.

Great!

Seems like the tool could be very helpful. Tallying the gambling losses and showing what you could buy with it is something we all know deep down or in the back of our minds but seeing it like that makes it much harder to stomach in my opinion. What I typically do is think about it in terms of chasing yesterday's or last weeks losses. Thinking about it small this way combined with the occasional lucky day makes chasing losses a cycle that's difficult to break because its too easy to avoid too much serious thought about how tall the pile of money I've lost actually is. I think simply reading and answering the survey questions was an eye opener for me as well.

Hello!

Thanks for taking the time to share this. You’ve just perfectly described the trap so many may fall into and the exact reason why tools like this might actually work. Not because they tell us anything new, but because they show it in a way that’s harder to ignore or explain away.

The fact that just filling out the survey had that kind of effect on you says a lot. You're not just helping us shape something potentially useful; you’ve already made it a little more real.

Big thanks for that.

My thoughts - It is actually such a good idea and would be a great tool to use in theory.

Myself as an example: I like to track my steps, I find my location history interesting and reminiscent, I like to save a heap of useless organisational tools, that only clog my storage.

Ask me to track my debts and expenses and I'll give you too many reasons but also, I simply don't want to. Yes, I know I should. Yes, I know I need to. It's not something I've been able to make stick in my 37 yrs.

I've tried setting up the spreadsheets, creating the lists, tracking the expense. It either lasts just the initial set up, or put on a forgotten to do list.

I think I'd try it out, I'd set it up but if I don't like the figures that I see I think it's probable I wouldn't make a habit of tracking the stats and only randomly return sporadically.

Yes I gamble a little sometimes when I know I probably shouldn't, but I'm not in debt from gambling. There's been times I've gone overboard, but it's not a regular issue. I've had a fair share of winnings withdrawals too.

I'll bury the very thing blatantly telling me I probably shouldn't on the times I can make it work.

I feel sure this is relatable to some..

Thank you so much for your honesty and for taking the time to share your thoughts!

What you wrote captures the reality many people face far better than any theory ever could. That inner conflict, knowing what you should do but not feeling able or willing to follow through, is entirely human. And definitely not a sign of weakness. On the contrary, being able to say it out loud takes strength and self-awareness.

You're absolutely right, I believe.

Trying to track losses or face uncomfortable numbers is only possible in certain moments or phases, when someone not only feels the need for change but is also in a headspace where they can begin to act on it. And even then, it’s a process, not a switch.

That’s exactly why we believe any tool like this needs to be gentle and supportive. Not another judgement or alarm bell, but a companion. Something that offers help without forcing it.

Your feedback is incredibly valuable. It helps us understand what this might look like in real life, and that’s what we need most if we want to build something truly helpful.

So again, thank you. Not just for taking part in the survey, but for being this open. It really matters.

it was a good service and I think the tool would be useful in some extent. I would like to see more limits on the account tough, to be able to choose dates and time by myself and not been limited to 1 week or month or year. But I think some people would benefit from the tool

IP03 was my completion code!

I think this could be a great tool and help prevent some people who may have problems with gambling from spending too much.

Thanks
