Scientific Games (SG) is a recognizable provider of retail and digital games, services and analytics, powering lotteries across the globe.
As an unquestionable leader in instant game retail sales, the company constantly grows its portfolio of partners while retaining existing ties with government-run lotteries.
In one such growth initiative, SG confirmed it extended its successful agreement with the Kentucky Lottery.
On Monday, the company revealed it signed a 10-year agreement that will see the Lottery continue to benefit from its leading games and solutions.
Since 1989, Scientific Games has been the Kentucky Lottery's primary scratch-off game provider.
However, in 2018, the company agreed to grant the Lottery access to its Scientific Games Enhanced Partnership (SGEP) program.
This ushered in a new era of growth for the Kentucky Lottery, positioning it in the top 20 performing instant game lotteries in the world list.
Thanks to the innovative program, the Kentucky Lottery significantly and responsibly expanded its scratch-off game category.
Currently, SG's SGEP program supports some of the world's top-performing instant game lotteries.
The powerful and innovative program is leveraged by five of the top six instant game lotteries in the country.
Powered by analytics, patented technologies and efficiencies, the SGEP program helped the Kentucky Lottery optimize its scratch-off games offering.
Besides retail sales and marketing, the program includes a range of digital services.
The success of the Kentucky Lottery has been pivotal for the funding of grants and scholarships across the state.
Since 1999, the Lottery helped fund more than $5bn in different educational initiatives for Kentucky families and students.
John Schulz, SG's President of Americas and Global Instant Products, commented on the topic in a statement.
"The Kentucky Lottery has always taken an innovative, collaborative approach to growing its Scratch Off product category, and moving to the SGEP program was a very strategic business decision," he revealed.
Finally, Schulz pointed out: "Our partnership has proven to be highly successful, keeping the product pipeline flowing with exciting and innovative games to Kentucky Lottery retailers and players and protecting funding for scholarships for Kentucky students."
The deal brought similar excitement to Mary Harville, the Kentucky Lottery's CEO and President.
"The Kentucky Lottery is always looking for new and exciting games to offer our players and retailers, and the Lottery's continued partnership with Scientific Games will ensure we are doing just that," she explained.
Harville spoke about the popularity of scratch-off games that help boost the Lottery's revenues and in turn, benefit educational programs across the state.
The deal with the Kentucky Lottery comes on the heels of another important announcement by SG recently.
Earlier this month, the company signed a deal extension with Puerto Rico's LoterÃa Electrónica.
Under the agreement, the company will continue to power the Lottery with its solutions for eight years, with the possibility of further extending the collaboration for another two years.
